Today Verizon Wireless spokesperson Brenda Raney said in an email to Phone Scoop that the HTC Droid Eris will be updated to at least Android 2.0 — with Google Maps Navigation and Sense UI — during the first quarter of 2010. Depending on the timing, the Eris may even be updated to Android 2.1. The Droid Eris currently runs Android 1.5.

Question...now or wait?

i was thinking of getting the Moto Droid, but the Eris is a better feeling phone...but I wanted Android 2.0 ... I keep going back and forth -- does this mean that those who have an Eris will be able to upgrade or does it mean that I should wait till the upgrade is out before I purchase the phone. Suggestions. If the Touch Pro 2 were to come out with Android, I'd buy that one in a heartbeat...

thanks, jen.

I was trying to decide between the Samsung and the Eris

so now the decision is easier. For my new-every-two early next year the Eris is my phone.
Eris is nice!!! I love it...and when the update comes out you should be able to get google nav so should be a no brainer

same model....current deal is awesome promotion

Depends on Sprint. Remember, even though they are basically the same phone, each carrier has different ways they approve upgrades. Now, if you have a Rooted Hero, you should be able to get the update no matter what, but as far as official updates, y...
