Samsung Creates RFID Reader Chip for Mobile Devices

Samsung has developed a new chip that can be put into mobile devices such as cell phones and used to pull information from RFID tags. The content can be nearly anything and be stored in nearly any sort of product. When users swipe their phones over the tagged object, information is downloaded to the phone and displayed. The RFID reader is small, measuring 6.5mm x 6.5mm and uses very little power. It will initially be available in separate, tethered readers before it is actually embedded into devices.

if I remember correctly, people that are worried about their credit cards that have implanted RFID tags (AMEX Blue, Chase Master cards with Blink) can make tin foil sleeves. I'm sure that can work for people.
