The best cellular phone company that I have found so far is Verizon Wireless. You can call anywhere in the U.S. and Canada without being charged long distance. You can also get the North America's Choice plan that lets you call to AND FROM anywhere in North America (U.S., Canada, Mexico, etc.) without being charged long distance. It only uses your plan minutes. And the plans that they offer are better than Canadian cellular plans as far as minutes and pricing. AT&T actually has a better deal for NS.
With a national plan, you can add all of Canada as part of your coverage for $9.99/month, and add or remove it on a month to month basis without renewing a contract. Long distance to and from Canada (and within) is free. I've used this plan, and its only downside is that you require a national plan that is not shared. 😁

Verizon Wireless does indeed offer a National Single Rate plan. This plan gives you a certain number of minutes per month to use in North America for a fixed cost. There are NO evenings or weekends free with Verizon Wireless under this plan. You can add weekends for 10 dollars a month. Consider this:
With Verizon Wireless:

400 anytime minutes that can be used anywhere in Canada or the U.S. for $55.00 per month. Add that $10.00 option so you can get the weekends too. That's a total of $65.00 per month not including regulatory fees, taxes, and anything else that seems to appear on the bi...
