3GPP2 video format for phones

Can anyone tell me for sure an appoximate date/year cell phones started taking video in 3GPP2 format? Maybe the first phone that could do it? Thanks.

google when it was approved as a standard. I'm sure wikipedia will have it. Phones couldn't be far behind.

I don't know any phones that play 3gpp2 off the top of my head, more like standard 3gp, thats why I'm saying google it.
