Haven't heard, have you?
Does anyone think ATTWS will merge with Cingular? Or do you think T-Mobile would merge with ATTWS? I myself think the latter of the two.
I haven't heard or seen anything in print lately, has anyone else?

More or likely AT&T and Cingular will Merge. It will give them a combined customer base of around 50 million. They will do this just to become the #1 carrier in customer count.

Go to rcrnews.com. It states that Cingular parent companies are preparing to offer IPO's in anticipation of the a merger with att wireless and that both are cleaning up their books to get get ready!!!

so what does that mean for employees? if you think about it...they both have the same cancel fees, the same nw min's, almost the same type of phones...if they do merge....The better get rid of their stupid commercials...but then again...it may be better than what attws has!

this isn't info I should give out but we got info in our 'news' system explaining what we should say if a customer calls in and inquires about certain issues, one of them was consoldiation. Our 'official' response is that it isn't what we're focused on at this time and we are constantly looking at ways to improve our business profitability.
So basically thats not totally a no, but definately not a yes, yet.
Perosnally I forsee ALOT of problems if AT&T Wireless and Cingular merged.
It'd be a HUGE undertaking if they do. 🙂

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - Shares of AT&T Wireless surged Tuesday after another
report that SBC Communications might seek to acquire the wireless phone
company.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that SBC and BellSouth, co-owners
of Cingular, have expressed renewed interest in a merger with AT&T Wireless
(AWE: news, chart, profile). Rumors of such a deal have percolated in the
market for more than a year.
The companies might also seek an IPO next year for Cingular in hopes of
raising fresh cash to fund further expansion, the Journal reported.
