question about "fees"

My account is and has always been in good standing... except for one time I had to pay a 26 dollar re-connection fee because I forgot to pay the bill.

Can anyone honestly tell me if a re-connection fee is just a 20+ dollar fee to push a button?

I don't know why I thought of that this morning, but I did.

Well logically if there was no fee people would just not pay their bill till they want. they may say I'll just deal with out my Cell phone for now.

Most fees are just a matter of pushing a button.

Well for our company, it costs an average of $26 to maintain a line of service. If a customer isn't paying on it, it still costs the company money to maintain that line of service.

That's the only thing I can think of based on the facts

Yeah, it's like a fine. It'll make you try to avoid repeating it in the future.

Here at Sprint, we can waive this fee when manually restoring if the customer made a payment with us, has good tenure, etc.

I usually do that; I feel pro-rated charges are punishment enough.
