What the conversion schedule is looking like? Any idea when the Kansas market is going to the big red?

Where did you get your information about Virginia? I live in Charlottesville, where Verizon will be at some point, and I haven't been able to get squat out of anyone here.

The sooner, the better. I'm eligible to upgrade, and I want the Samsung U810 Renown. I can hold out another month or so with my Moto V3m.

I would renew now with Alltel. That way you can keep your plan the way it is. If you renew when you become Verizon, they will make you change your plan to a Verizon plan. And more than likely, you will end up with less minutes than you have now for the same price you are paying now or have to goto a higher price plan to get the minutes you have now. Also, not sure what plan you have, but you will probably loose 5 my circle numbers as well, assuming that you are on a $59.99 plan right now. As Verizons Friends and Family on the same priced plan is only 5 numbers. If you want to keep your 10, you have to go with a $99.99/month plan. And good luck getting 20 numbers if you are on a plan with those right now as Verizon's Friends and Family...

I'm not really liking any of the phones that Alltel is offering at this time, and if Verizon wont let me keep my current plan if I process an upgrade, I don't really want to stay with them. That really sucks though. 😢 I love the my circle I'm on, the 10 numbers, and one extra for having it over two years.

Buy the phone out right from Verizon. Then bring the phone over to alltel.

What I will probably end up doing is buying the phone I want, the Renown, at full retail price when Verizon takes over here in Charlottesville. That way, I get to keep my Alltel plan (you're right, I have the $59.99 plan with the ten numbers). On the other hand, there is no guarantee that Verizon will not make me switch over to a Verizon plan whether I pay full retail for the new phone or not...we don't know any of that for a fact yet. The other piece of information that I was given was that IF I upgrade with Alltel now, I may be forced to keep that phone in service after Verizon gets here because it's under a new contract. We don't know whether Verizon will enforce that part of the deal or not, either.

Just too many loose ends here...

The Kansas/Missouri region is one of the largest areas that will be transfered over to VZ from Alltel. They are looking at September timeframe if everything goes as planned.
