Should I Stay Alltel?

I live in an area that is not being merged into Verizon (Sandusky, OH). I will be moving to Pittsburgh in the fall for school. I was wondering what my coverage would be like in Pittsburgh if I stayed Alltel. Would I be roaming all the time and have a huge bill since Alltel won't exist there? My contract is up and this is the deciding factor of whether or not I keep Alltel or switch to Verizon.

Thanks in advance!

In Pittsburg, Alltel roams. There is no native service there. Verizon would be your best choice.

Your Alltel phone will work fine in Pittsburgh, but you'll be in "Extended Area" 100% of the time. Of course, you'll get to keep your OH number in PA, which will be helpful to to the folks back home who might want to call you from a landline, should that be important to you. It worked fine down here, but I couldn't access the native Verizon features being in the EA mode. Also, too many people wanted to be able to reach me from the local landlines here without a long distance charge, so I switched over to Alltel. Well, Verizon WILL be here shortly, so it's back to the future for me. If Al...

It's really up to you. If you would like to have all the features with Verizon, switch. We have some awesome phones, features as in V Cast Video and Music. You can pick 5 numbers to call for free like alltels my Circle also.

Well you could always wait and see who buys this area? We will probably know in the next couple of months. I live in Castalia and 2 out of my 3 lines are out of contract. I am going to wait and see who buys us out before switching.

I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm at least going to wait until I move to Pittsburgh to decide what I'm going to do.
Thanks everyone.
