Pleas back up your story. Don't see how this is possible, unless the 2 investment companies had some money hiding.
I'm curious to hear what your going to say. Your answer will determine my thoughts of you, and I'm pretty sure everyone else.
Are you a corp. rep? Is there something you know that the public or private investors don't know? Thanks.

To be honest yean, i don't really care what anyone on this little po-dunk forum thinks of me, phonescoop is mostly irrelevant. 80-90 percent of the people here don't know anything about the wireless industry, they are just fan boys and the kind of employees who end up telling the customers wrong information.

The private equity company is either going to A) invest into the next auction and get the 700 and make a bigger sale longer down the line, possibly to someone like voda, orange, docomo, etc. or B) sell it after a few years doing nothing but what they have been doing and sell it as a whole or in large pieces.

Until the auction comes around we won't know for 100 percent certainty what they plan on doing (because it can change).

I have always said Alltel si dong pretty good being a regional carrier. And I am not sure what states they are in but its not 50 (or49 like most) and having 13 million customers. Imagine if they were nationwide. They can advertise almost as good as verizon and that is what makes the difference. Their network is good as this is why verizon and sprint have a large roaming agreement with alltel.

Yes I used to think that Sprint and Verizon somehow were better. Then I started educating myself a little more and realized Alltel's network is as good or better every where I went. They are more personable, the rates are mostly better, and the customer service is the same or better. The only possible knock on them is that they are not always the first with the latest new phones. But they are getting better at that and they are not far behind.

With the next auction coming up they may position themselves to become national carriers. They would then have the advantage (the 700 will do much better then 800 cellular licenses) from vzw and att in the major cities. It will be interesting seeing how it all plays out.

I was expecting an answer like this from you. Look, I'm not trying to knock on you.
I'm really surprised you answered back. I respect you and your answer,
I knew Rev. B wasn't going to be available to Alltel, I just wanted to see what you were going yo say.
wombough, once again, I'm sorry on what's happened. You ARE a ol' Sprint phonescoop forum friend. I apologize on behalf of Sprint.
If you decide to come back to Sprint, gmail me, and I'll drop my gmail....Sorry.

No offense taken my friend. 😉 But what do you have, that's more than I?
Yes I do have, work , and enjoys Sprint service, and I'll defend on what I feel is right. I know Sprint, so I just share my input.
I know I have been biased in the past with GSM and BREW, due to what I've experienced and still experience (GSM).
I try to have an open look at things. I know Sprint well, so I talk on what I know. Peace.

wombough,

As a corporate representative of Sprint, I'd like to take this time to say sorry for Sprint's mistakes. Sprint should of made things right by fixing the problem. It's Sprint old p2k system that allows too many exploits, and the new ensemble system automatically correcting the exploits.

I blame Sprint for the direct or indirect representative that misinformed you on the add on service (Power Vision and text), and also mis entering the correct add on service coding. Yes, this is Sprint fault, and then Sprint's retention department didn't correct the problem?! WOW! I'm shocked.

What Sprint's retention department should of done was put Z codes that allow free text and Power Vision, and that coding wasn't available, they sh...

I did and thank you. More people like you should be employed with sprint and maybe things would be soo much better. I have talked to 5 retention people and were alll unwilling to fix it so I would say on average sprint doesn't care to fix what they did wrong. And I don't care to do business with a company like that. Again I thank you.

Are you serious? Coming to an Alltel forum trying to get an old customer to come back to Sprint. Are you sales really that low this month? The grass is greener over here at Alltel, so go back to the Sprint forum!

To answer your question, YES, I'm serious. wombough is a Sprint forum friend that I'm trying to help.

To answer your other question, NO. My sales for the month are almost met. I just need 9 more to obtain Sprint's quota (FYI).

I stated my purpose here was to offer an apology from Sprint's bad experience and offer Sprint's SERO plan. If you're not familiar with Sprint's SERO, check it out at sprint.com/sero.

Once again, I'm not here to pick a fight or bash on Alltel. Thank you. 😎

Alltel does offer some GREAT plans, AND agreements. That's Alltel, and Alltel works great for YOU, NOT ME, because Alltel is NO WHERE NEAR HERE. So yes, the grass is GREENER from your stand point.
I prefer J2ME over BREW any day. I like the freedom on what Sprint offers, and the url's that others develop for Sprint. I can't knock on Alltel, because I've never used Alltel (because it's no where near my area).
I also like the fact that Alltel allows Sprint to data roam on Alltel's network.
I guess Alltel sold to 2 investment companies for a reason. I'm pretty sure you'll see some changes to make up for some dept, or if Alltel tries to develop more. Cheers. 😉

For sure. Sprint in Mississippi is almost a last resort. If you can't get a phone anywhere else, go to sprint. They will approve ya. Also, sprint is the only company I know of that has worse phones that we do! lol

I beg to differ on phones, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you feel Sprint offers some horrible handsets, you'll see a drastic change in devices when WiMAX rolls out. Has Alltel rolled Ev-DO rev.A?

Rev.A? I don't think Alltel has Ev-DO Rev A yet. Sprint will roll out their WiMAX before Rev.A is complete to Alltel's network.
I'm glad Sprint is going this direction, the voice will not be parallel to data. Looking forward to this. Enjoy your Alltel service. 😎
