All of the current reports that I have seen state that Sprint's RL is a little faster than Verizon's in the initial connect time, but it still can't catch NEXTEL's DC.
Remember also that there are many complaints about Sprints coverage and inability to penetrate buildings because they are on 1.9 GHz. NEXTEL is on 800 MHz and does a much better job of this.
