I know this has been asked over and over again, but know that we are in May, does anyone know when the 830 is going to be in stores to buy? Why does it seem that nextel is always so secretive about their release dates?

May 17th is when it will be released, but most likely it won't be in stock at stores until June 1st.
I'm sure most of you remember when the i730 came out, dealers were able to do VAD orders, and customers could get it ordered, or buy from telesales, but they weren't able to go to a store, look at it, and take it home that day. They didn't get stock until 11/01/03.
Now, that doesn't mean you can't go and order it from a store on 5/17, it just means you will have to wait for it to ship to your house from the VAD Warehouse which takes about 2 days.
So if you planned on playing with it before hand or at least seeing it in person, you will have to wait a week or two longer.
