Hey im thinking about switching over from T-MO
bostonian area. Im starting off with an individual plan until my family gets off their contract. Anyway it is true that nextel DOESNT offer m2m free? If so how come and what is wrong with their silly stupid brains. Ok, i could see if they just let you use unlimited walktalkie but they dont even have that feature on their family plans. THEY REALLY NEED TO RECONSIDER ! ! !

nextel never offered free mobile to mobile.. by why would you have m2m when u can have direct connect?

nextel doesnt have to reconsider anything becuase with m2m it takes a while to get throw and then actually get to the person..

with direct connect its instant and secure and hardly drops, while m2m can.

i belive nextel might be doing some test rate plans with regarding to the m2m, but not in the boston area. (i am from mass i would know)
i think if you have a core business with direct connect there is no point of doing m2m.

well atleast with M2M you can talk as long as you want.. even with family plans.

but i guess 250 minutes a month wont hurt :-/

hey nextel, do you find that nextel's service in MASS is good? about how many bars do you get in what town/city

makes sense about the mobile to mobile, however like i mentioned before if you get direct connect (which is rounded to the next second, however rounded to the next mins with mobile to mobile) its a lot more efficent then mobile to mobile.

like i said you can get unlmited direct connect and your all set.

yea i have nextel for 5-6 years now and i have been getting good service here.

we dont look at the bars becuase they, in reality, mean nothing. nextel and i we look at the TX status or sytem status on our phones when we do pound star menu right arrow on our phones.

nextel has some capacity issues that they are tryign to work on with the 6:1 voice coder and obivously interference problem and thats why they are doing everything th...

yea that helps a lot.. i been to lexington many times with my nextel phones and it works very well out there. this has been a few or 1 year ago or so i dont know what has been going on lately over there.

burlington and woburn i know very well and nextel works very well around and in those towns.

i shope at the Btm every other day to be honest and i have never had a problem there.

just do the 15 day trial, if it works, then keep it,however if it doesnt obviously dont keep it.

yea its good to start off slow and if one has been with the company for a long time then they should expand and get a better phone with more applications..

sure well i suggest the 530, and the i710. they are both flip, however they both dont have outside lcd(or caller id's on the outside). if you wanted to pay a little bit more you could get the i730, however the RF and signal drivers on the phone is quite weak. i have been telling many people to get rid of them and i got rid of mine a long time ago..

i suggest getting the i530 or the i710.

let me know about how your trial goes.

any more questions or concerns please dont hesitate to ask 🙂

well i really think an external lcd is a must.. so i guess my only really option is the i830 *gasps at price* if im going to get a phone i might as well spend some money since i will be using it for the next 2 years... hows the signal on the i830.. and will the price decrease around christmas time (Dec. 25th) seeing thats when i will begin my new service/trail period.
hmm.. heard something that on november first, nextel will be taking away their shared plans.. hopefully they will replace it with a better value plan :-D?
thanks again and again:

i cant tell you what nextel will do in the future, however, just look on the web page on the first of every month. (for plans and phone price changes)

the i830 has a terrible battery life, and i think a bad RF performance (signal drivers) as in comparison to the i710, and 530 and the other 3 digit phones besides for the terrible i730.

i suggest either the i710 or the 530, unfort there is no lcd or caller id on the outside but hey when you can get a call just open up the flip see it on the inside lcd and decide if you want to pick it up or not. you can change preferences about if you open the flip you have to take the call etc....

they have those great power plans which are extremely good and very popular i think that is why arpu (a...

owelll ill guess ill have to wait till i get my hands on one of those darn beep beep nextel phones. hmm.. one more question. you know those race-car flip phones that nextel offers. there exactly like the *cough* i730. Are the nascar phones similar to the i710's signal or the i730's signal????

thaNks again

one more question thats it? lol j/k

i think those i736's or nascar phones are similiar to i730 but i think the signal is such as the i710, but im not exactly sure... i tested the nascar phones a while while ago, and from what i recall, they showed that the i736's (nascar phones) are better then the i730 in my opinion and like the i710.

i would just try the 710 or the 530 and thats it dont get to fancy shancy.

"Get Verizon... all my friends in Boston say they are by far the best carrier there."

yea verizon isnt that great actually.

in boston nextel is very good, i tried verizon and its not as good plus verizon has roaming which makes their network better becuase of those agreements, but nextel is better. they will be better when the 6:1 voice coder and the interference issue will go away.. i tell people not to associate with dirty companies who when they dont get their way they sue.
