Will Nextel EVER expand their coverage?
...
Here in Utah they are expanding like crazy.

Yes, but they don't share the when's and where's with the public, or there sales people.
...
Yes they do. I am an indirect and my Nextel rep emails me every time a new site is up. Maybe you just have a bad rep...
...
We Rep for Nextel Partners in Vermont and are kept in the loop with e-mail every week indicating build status and "on-air" dates... In the past 12 months the company has built and brought on-air nearly a dozen sites to compliment the original 39 they fired up at the point of presence a year ago. Nextel is the only company with SOLID east to west coverage on one of our states main arteries, Route 4... NO OTHER carrier does that... not Verizon, not RCC, not US Cellular... Etc. Etc.
In all fairness I must say there is NO coverage in Southern Vermont or North Western Massachusetts (same market area). And without the ability to "roam" we have to qualify and re-qualify every prospect so as not to mis-represent the company. Once again, not any ...

I totally agree. Wish more sales people would do that. It would save the headache of dealing with those who feel that Nextel sucks, just because they thought they would have service and didn't.

They tell you when a site is up, they don't tell you where they will be putting future sites.
...
Actually, the e-mails I receive every week have up and coming sites on it... they also have what stage the site is at and when construction should be complete and then the on-air date. These e-mails are for our market area only but helpful none the less.
It is what it is.

What area are you in? I was selling in the St. Louis market, and wouldn't get that type of information. Ofcourse I was an indirect, maybe that had something to do with it.
...
We are in the Vermont/Upstate New York (Albany) market... We are indirect for Nextel Partners here.

Ah, maybe partners keeps thier indirects better informed then. I was indirect for Nextel, and they wouldn't share that information. Have you had complaints about billing with customers? A friend of mine was a partners customer in the Central Illinios area, and he said he was getting billed for stuff he didn't use, double bills on several occasions. Anything like that where you are?
...
We rep for 3 wireless service providers here in Vermont.... "BILLING PROBLEMS" is my middle name!
We have plenty of problems with Nextel's bills but not anything like you spoke of... Primarily the "Taxes & Service Fees"... That and the billing format. I will tell you that Nextel is charging more in service fees and taxes on all of their price plans than RCC or Sprint in our area... A $39.99 price plan will yield a Nextel sub $10 or $11... Conversely, our RCC and Sprint subs are charged $5 and change... To much of a difference.
Our Vermonters don't cotton to that that ****... and that creates it own set of problems.
It is what it is.
