What's the final verdict on unlocking T-mobile GSM phones?

I've read various posting on how you can or cannot unlock a Tmobile GSM phone.

Bottom line just got a samsung e105 from T-mobile, and I want to unlock it to use in any country that has GSM900 service with a local SIM card from that country. If you have specific insturctions on how to totally unlock the phone, please post a responce.

There isn't just one universal way to unlock samsungs or any other brand of phone. You need that particular phone's unlock code which would have to be provided by T-Mobile. Now usually, you have to be a customer for 90 days before T-Mobile will give you that code, but the sim unlock department will usually make exceptions for international roamers. No guarantees on that though. Your best bet is to call in to customer care and request the code. They'll have to file a request to get it. If they give you a hard time, just tell them to file the request and let the sim unlock department deal with it. If it's approved you get a code, if it's rejected, you have to wait 90 days.
