t-mobile moves to the number 5 spot ahead of nextel now because with nextel's q4 2003 adds that only brought them to 12.9 mil. t-mobile now has 13.1 million customers. after the att/cingular merger tmo will be number 4 obviously. now we'll be on sprint's tail.

This isn't a T-Mobile slam, but they have a long way to go to catch Sprint with around 21 million customers. Sprint was just about to catch AT&T before the merger with Cingular. Its amazing to think that AT&T/Cingular will have some 46 million customers, leaving Verizon's 36 million in the dust.

Actually being an ex-Sprint PCS employee, I can state that T-mobile may be growing, but as JD Power and Assoc. have stated, we're moving in the right track and will probably be passing Sprint PCS definitely in the next 2 or so years, either with T-mobile's customer base growing, and/or Sprint PCS's customer base leaving. I'll admit that Sprint PCS had some great offers and great phones (sanyo was and is still my fav, even though i can't use Sanyo with T-mobile.) but their Customer service can and does actually play a BIG part in their growth or loss, and I left working with Sprint PCS because of this specifically. T-mobile may be small now, but they'll definitely be surpassing SPCS without any doubt, in the near future.

Yes, but when you figure that last year we were celebrating exceeding our subscriber goal (we were hoping to top 8 million and started out 2003 with ten million) and this year we're topping 13 million, it's not too far fetched to assume that we could soon be eating Sprint's lunch! 😁

Yeah, I don't know about anyone else, but my calls were running about 50 inquiries about porting in to every inquiry about porting out! Not to mention how many people I've had cancelling their port outs to come back to us because they just couldn't stand the company they went to... and the people who had port out requests who couldn't get straight answers from their new company, but they'll call us to find out what's up--because we know and we'll tell them and help them out even though they're leaving... It's all about the customer service, baybee... 😉
