Even More Plus plan

Thinking of getting the Even More Plus plan with unlimited everything.

With regards to unlimited web. Is that a data plan or something else?

Maybe a dumb question. I am just confused since there is a Even More Plus 1500 Talk + Text + Web

Thanks!

The 1500 Talk + Text + Web plan alreay has everything built into the plan.

Say you wanted to do the 1500 Talk + Text, but only 1 of the 2 lines wanted the web. Then you would do the $80 plan, and add the web to just that one like for $25 totaling $105 instead of doing 1500 Talk + Text + Web for $120. Also applies when adding additional lines, so if you had the 1500 Talk + Text + Web, and wanted a 3rd line with web, then it would be $5 for the 3rd line (share of the 1500 and unlim text) and $25 for the web.

Hope that helps.

Thanks!

I got the following from the T-Mobile website.

Want lower up-front costs with a 2-year agreement? Check out Even More plans, which feature great phone discounts and competitive monthly rates.

What up-front costs is this referring to? I know there is an activation fee existing customers have to pay. Is there anything else?

I already have 2 unlocked phones.

The price of the phone. If you do the two year contract, you get a free or heavily discounted phone. Without the contract, you'll pay full retail price for the phone...

Thanks. That is what I figured.

I talked to a customer service woman and she told me that if I went with the Even More Plus plan I am stuck there since they can't have people going back and forth between non-contract and having a contract.

Is that correct? I can understand the rationale behind it.

Yes, that is correct. T-Mobile is basically giving customers a choice: discount on devices, or discount on the rate plans. For most people savings on the plan end up being more than the savings on devices. Its not always true though, it all depends upon how many lines you're getting and what phones. For example, if you're getting 5 lines with Samsung T139s, Even More Plus will be a better savings. However, if all those lines got HD2s instead, it may be cheaper to do Even More. Easy way to calculate is take your rate plan over the course of 2 years with both plans and find the difference. If its more than the savings on the phone, I'd go Even More Plus.

I generally use unlocked gsm phones so the Even More Plus would be a good fit for me.

However, very few unlocked phones support the T-mobile 3g frequency. I know the Nexus One and Nokia N900 does. Other than that I don't know.

3G is important. I will have some thinking to do. 😕

Yeah, there are very few, at least for now. There are several carriers in South America that are adopting to the 1700MHz bandwidth, so you'll see more in the future. Just look for any that have the AWS band. There are a couple of Sony Ericssons that do I believe. I know the Xperia X1 did, I think the X10 does too, but I'll have to double check that. And yes, if you're getting unlocked phones, there's no way you should go to Even More. Save at least 10-20 bucks a month by going even more plus.

Sprint Data Share 1500 - $129.99
Has the text/data included. Adds GPS and Sprint TV at no cost. No additional smartphone cost. Additional lines are $19.99 instead of $30.00. Also has new AMAT feature, so only landline calls will use minutes.

Done and done.

Odd. I thought this was the T-mobile forum. The last place in customer service forum is over at the SPRINT side...

I was just looking at the T-mobile website again.

Is it possible to get the Family Unlimited Talk + Text for $99.99 and then add data to 1 phone ($30)?

I have a smartphone and I want data but the wife doesn't have a smartphone and she doesn't want data.

Thanks!

Yes that's exactly what you would do for your situation. The Family Unlimited Talk + Text + Web is only if you need it for both lines.

Excellent!

Thanks. I don't know why anyone would ever leave T-Mobile with all these great services. (i am sure now some troll will respond to this). 😈

I agree. Best customer service. Best in-store retail satisfaction. Ever improving handset selection, although this is a personal judgement and I'm sure some troll will come say "iiiiippppphhhhhoooonnnneee". Great coverage, depending upon where you are, which is true for ANY carrier, despite what the commercials say. But there will be a troll who would rather pay more because they believe the propaganda. The trolls all believe if something isn't the best fit for them, its not the best fit for anyone. I for one won't pay more so you can "hear me now" from the middle of nowhere. I live in Atlanta, and it works great for me, I don't give a rat's ass about service in the middle of nowhere. I've got service everywhere I go, and I've been all over ...

/Agreed. I can't think of to many places that i can't get service. I've traveled a lot as well and i've never had a problem. I was also very impressed recently with the amount of 3g too.

so since there is no contract involved with the even more plus. can t-mobile make changes to the plan that would effect the customer?

i am sure there is a fine print somewhere i didn't read and they won't flip on the customers all of the sudden.

any ideas?
