Ok I was reading some thread arounfd the forum and someone mentioned IM are the same as text message as far as the way to charge your account.

So if this is true the I could use the IM with an unlimited text plan right???

I dont really browse the internet from a phone so I dont need to pay for data.

I just want to confirm this is possible with t-mobile, could someone help me out here???

PS: I would like to use blackberry IM.

tmob messaging packages include text, im, piture, and multimedia messaging. Are you talking about bb messenger? That I don't believe is included because it's a bb specific service, but I may be wrong...

yes I am talking about bb messenger, I understand what you say because that is what the messaging package description says but I would like to see if any reps from tmob could double check and confirm this

You have to at least have the blackberry enabler feature on your account to use the blackberry IM. the enabler feature is free but it needs to be on the account to use any IM on the blackberry but it also allows tzones access and allows you to send picture messages. you still would want to have some text package just because im not sure if the blackberry IM would count as a text msgs like normal AIM or Yahoo or ICQ does

What you need for im on a bb will vary depending on the model you have, i work in the bb dept at tmo, so i get this question alot. If you are using a bb 8100 or previous, they use the oz im client and those im's will come out of unl txt package. If you are using 8800, 8820, 8320, 8120, they dont use the oz im client, on these models the im's are charged as unl data with the 19.99 bb feature, not as txt msgs. That will apply for im such as aim, icq, windows live, google talk, yahoo, etc. If your looking to use the bb messenger this will only work with the 19.99 bb data feature no matter what model bb you are using. hope this helps.
