I chatted with these guys and gave them the info they needed to do a story on free wifi calling overseas....and they didn't even give me a mention.... gee thanks... lol..

I even posted a comment expressing the same and guess what... it wasn't approved by the MOD.

So if you give them info don't expect to be credited.

I presented the launch markets from here and leaked phones info from BGR, and they just took it and didn't mention I provide the info
they may be able to find them finally, but it may be later
dang it!

Give me a break, are you guys seriously whining about not being given credit for leaking propietary information to a site whose sole purpose is to provide information prior to public release?

Grow up.

This is like a fireman who wants credit for saving a falling baby. Do you think they do it so they can win the key to the city? No, they do it because its their job and their passion.

You want credit, write a book.

leaking info to them... and having a 15 min chat with them explaining exactly how it works and how it can be exploited is two different things....

IF they are going to have a section where you can give them info... they need to at least say "Justin informed of this".... not like I was the first person to figure it out. But I mean 30 mins after we have a conversation...they do a write up....

But hey if they don't want to give any cred... then I guess I won't help them out with anymore info....

Justin,

The article was written well before you suggested writing it. We have many articles written, or that we are working on, saved on our server. When we are done, or news is running slow, we will post some of them. This one, we decided to post, because we thought that info was growing and spreading enough that other blogs may cover it. Again, we had information on this months before you told us. The confirmation was nice, so thank you for telling us, but perhaps we help run CellPhoneSignal.com where a conversation and explanation of this phenomenon have been taking place for quite some time.
Sorry

Yeah good response back. This WiFi information has been out for sometime, and most people just figure it out when thinking about how Skype works, etc. It just hasn't been a focus in the limelight.

you know... I have something more to add....

I see your point.... but when you have a website that simply repeats info from BGR, phonescoop, etc.... then at least give credit to someone who is doing your work for you.

Thats really funny considering I've seen at least 3 instances in the last 7 days where boygenius and crunchgear have credited tmonews for leaking something. I beg you to show where the information on that site is regurgitated verbatim. By that I mean show me something that is totally copied, not something that tmonews may have placed up by updating information given out days, weeks or months earlier. Boygenius takes articles from engadget and vice versa and re-posts them. I'm betting the creators of that site wanted to put it all into one place, so you had a one stop shop for T-mobile news. I'm guessing you were to busy worrying about getting "the key to the city" to figure that much out.

When you want to put up an argument, check your f...

The image of the Shadow II was ripped off the net then watermarked by them.... They WERE NOT the original poster of that image so how can they watermark it as theirs?

Just another instance of them trying to look like they were the first to report it.

I'm not whining about anything... just saying it would be nice for them to credit someone... jeese... You didn't see me screaming that I was the first one to come up with this.....I wasn't... and I don't pretend to be (like some of the stuff they post)... I was simply giving them info to do a good story on, so the word could get out to the masses about wifi international calling.

You get off your high horse and get over it.

Justin,

You really have to give it a break. Look at the Picture closely. The TmoNews.com watermark is clearly photoshopped out. Look at the start menu. Also, it is missing the T-zones icon right above the start menu. I have the original file saved on my computer. It does have a Tzones icon, and the Start menu does not look nearly that bad. You can expect AllShadow.com to have this image within the next week, and you can see that the picture is photoshopped.

We appreciate your help, really, however, like I said, we already had an article written regarding this subject.

Why don't you stop trying to bring down TmoNews.com, and help them out. We really here to do the same thing you are, which is help the average user.

I'm not here to bring you down at all.... I actually like your site.

If you already had an article written up then cool.... no biggie.... It just didn't seem that way when we were chatting. But like I said.... no biggie...

Hell I bet you had more hits on your site the last few days becuase of this thread than you normally have. =)

Any pub is good pub isn't it?

Cheers!

Justin
