Last hope before I cancel. ANY T-mo rep with power- HELP!

Here is my dilemma:

I have been a subscriber for 2 years & 5 months, ironically, though, when you look up my account, conveniently the whole first year is gone (yet my bank statements show me paying tmobile). Anyway, on to the problem-

I have had 3 HTC phones from T-mo (2 SDA's and 1 Dash) and the current Dash that I have is having the exact same issues as the previous 2: Spontaneously rebooting, shutting down and not rebooting, locking up, "ghost" alarms going off at random, even when the alarm function is turned completely off OR is set to no sound, etc. I've spoken to several reps, Blackberry/PDA people and hard reset the phone again and again and nothing fixes it. I don't have any other applications on the phone other than what cam...

Sounds like they have gone above and beyond to try to help you, your problem is with the phones manufacture not T Mob, have they provided you with service? Yes? Has the phone failed? If so then its not their fault, Why should they loose $300 on a phone to try to keep you?

If I were them I wouldnt have done as much as they have.

As fo the Dash sorry on what happened. I do not know if you have talked with the SAVE departmen or not but they can tug a lot. it depends.

As for as discouts go.. the phone industry has changed. it is more of a service company, and we offer phones as incentive to keep our service. honestly t-mobile does NOT need to sell any cell phones. cause anyone can buy any GSM unlocked phone and use it under t-mobile.

as far as i know it really doesn't matter if you have had service for 3 years or 11 years. the treatment is the same for everyone, and that is the only way they can give consistant service. I had a rep tell me that that if you own a Lexus for 10 years, are they going to give you a discount? or if you got a deal on a Samsung LCD TV be...

Why not take the most expensive model they've offered you (I'm too lazy to go look at the list), don't even open the box, and toss it up for sale on eBay or Craigslist. Take the cash from the sale and pick up your BB Pearl or Samsung Blast. Problem solved...

I had the MDA replaced it three times, they sent me the dash, I am on dash four. In my transition between dash three and four I was offered the pearl instead of the dash. Your issue is that you haven't invested enough money in your inital phone purchase to have the right to get the phone that you want. my suggest get another dash and sell it to someone, that that money and get the blast. you would have 2 phones, one that would be under warranty and another that would be under your contract.

the bby 8700 may have fewer of the "fun" features (camera, mp3, expand. memory) but it is NOT an inferior phone. excellent reception, tough as nails, very fast even w/o wi-fi, very adaptable, with a huge support base (pinstack, anyone?), it is a great piece of equipment. it is, to my knowledge, the only alternate phone they are authorized to offer for the dash. you would be giving up a lot to use the blast if you got it, internet and push email just for starters.

as for the rebate, they are processed through a different company, not t-mobile, but if you had brought the letter you got turning down your rebate to any corporate store, they would have helped you through the steps to get the refund if you were owed it. keep in mind that partia...

Why do customers always want a free phone? You save money every month on your rate plan when you're with T-Mobile. The cost of any phone you get, you'll make back over time compared to the rate plans of any other carrier in the country.

First of all, this isn't a FLEE MARKET. You're not going to get a Free Blast because that phone has only been out for about 2 months. T-Mobile is a business and to just demand to get a free phone when they're offering the phone for ONLY $100 after rebate is insane. Why don't you try just going on craigslist.com or find a way to get a free phone some other way instead of demanding something that is insane!?

Just a quick post to thank anyone who responded constructively to my post. It was greatly appreciated. To the others that "thought" they read my post and responded with erroneous commentary (and to the VZW "lurkers" who had zero business posting at all): I am victorious. I received the phone I wanted- for free, have unlocked it & it's on the open market for sale to recoop my cost of the rebate I never received. Also, I've happily chosen another carrier.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease when it's backed with logic & facts.

Good luck to anyone staying with T-mobile & waiting out the 1 to possibly 3 years for 3G with the governmental lock-down on the spectrum.

t-mobile went out of their way to get the phone that you wanted even though most people here who told you that you werent making the right decision; and what do you do? you take advantage of their good will. just another reason that rep will think twice before putting in the effort to help anyone. hope they discover your deception and charge you full price for your phone, which, by the way, they are fully entitled to do. 😡 if that is your definition of being victorious, you are a sad person indeed

Yeah, you're kind of a scumbag, aren't you? They send you a free phone and you still cancel. I honestly hope you're charged a cancellation fee. Have you ever heard of ethical business standards? How about fair trade practices? Or good morals? You're setting a great example for other people. T-Mobile is probably better off without a parasite like you anyways.

hahhahaaa....

pretentious dork. "wait 3 years for 3G". So what? Internet on any phone except the iPhone is watered down and overpriced.

Glad you got your free phone from boobing. You should feel proud, you're dishonest. As for going with another carrier: you can't please everyone all the time. You're just gonna find something wrong everywhere you go. If you make lemonade with the lemons life throws at you, you'll be a happier person.

Quit your boobing.

If you are a resident of Illinois, they passed a law that if you have a problem with your cell phone for 3 times, you get a new one.

I had a problem with my blackberry and on the third time they wanted to give me a DASH. I refused it b/c I don't like the Dash.

Good Luck!!

I'm sorry to say, but I've gone through lots of products that just don't work. I don't think it's the carrier, I've had no problems with T-Mobile, but I have with Motorola phones, so I don't buy them again, but I don't blame TMO.

I have a $3,500 Lenovo laptop that failed, upon arrival, they are charging me $550 restocking fee...it was defective out of the box, but I have no choice...So, what won't I do...Buy another Lenovo ever again in my life.

Sometimes products just aren't for us! Why have you had 3 HTC phones when they have all been defective. I won't buy another Lenovo and it only took once to learn my lesson!

And you say a Blackberry is a lesser phone. Gosh, I wouldn't say so, it lacks one feature you mention you want vs. ...

Long story short, they WOULD rather loose the business then pull all kinds of strings. They already have the "alt exchange" program in place for this. I completely understand that the phones offered are not up to par, but most other companies don't offer alt exchanges. The way they see it, if they get you a Samsung for free because you don't like HTC, then a year from now when you don't like Samsung, they feel like you might hold it over their head and demand a differant phone. So, theoretically, every year you could "punk" T-Mob into giving you a new phone by saying that you are ready to cancel. Threatening to cancel service is seen as a strong-arm tactic, and T-Mob already gives in a lot, so they aren't really willing to do "extra" on top ...

1) Moot point: I got what I wanted, moved on & I'm happy.
2) It most certainly IS Tmo's fault in that their branding interferes with some of Windows Mobile programming (it's a known issue & you blaming HTC is not only simply wrong, but indicates your bias to T-mo as a fanboy or employee, neither of which really need post to this now). Besides, if it were a Windows bug, there would be a fix for it on their site. HTC has zero to do with it (I like HTC devices in general, just not once T-mobile has interfered with them). The issues I spoke of are rectified once you unlock the phone and reinstall Windows; hence, it is a T-mo issue.
3) I have 3 Lexus vehicles. I've had problems with 2. Guess what? I took them back to the dealership & they fixed...

you got what you wanted by deceit, you basically stole that Blast. anyone that can do that and is able to look themselves in the mirror is not much of a human being. don't think that anyone at t-mobile will regret losing you, and i pity the company that is unfortunate enough to be next on your list.

A couple of you people amaze me with your stupidity. You feel I was deceitful? You're obviously unfamiliar with the definition. T-mobile offered a rebate on a phone, which they did not honor and in which I paid full price for. A phone that never did work correctly. I have obtained a replacement phone... that I paid full price for "originally." There is no deceit in that. If any, it lies with T-mobile in not honoring the original rebate. Why is this so unclear to some of you? I do not, however, feel that T-mobile was purposely deceitful; I merely feel they failed, despite my best efforts, to provide me with a rebate as well as a phone that functioned properly on a consistent basis.

I have long since fulfilled my contractual obligations and...

for someone who says they are a person of principle, you don't to be exhibiting any. the deceit, the lie, is that i guarantee that you never stated to anyone at t-mobile "just give me the phone that i want, and i will take it, sell it, and cancel my account", you probably repeated over and over some version of: "if you want to keep me as a customer, this is what you need to do.." why? i'm sure that you knew that lying was the only way to get what you wanted. you may have paid full price for the phone, but by your definition, anyone who is dissatisfied can come in and excange any phone for any other at any time. that's just crazy. as for the customer is always right, i'm positive that your company has NEVER turned any request by a customer, b...

Get worked shock. You just got owned by yensid. Thanks yensid for exposing the irrationality of his arguments. And I love how shock somehow went from raving about how t-mobile should try to keep his $79.99 a month to having 2,100 lines of service on a corporate plan. You don't have 2100 lines of service you tard. If you did t-mobile would have given you what you wanted (which was unreasonable to begin with) quite quickly because the cost/benefit would have been hugely in your favor. As it is, you probably cost t-mobile money by calling in with your problems (i suspect they were partly I.DtenT issues to begin with) all the time. Your obvious deceptions lead me to discount even the sympathetic parts of your story like the rebate issue and ...

Listen shockopera,

I feel that I am somewhat rational in my thinking and evaluating whatever situations come my way. I am not going to tear into you for what you did. I understand that you wanted to have fair treatment, but the fact of the matter is most likely you don't have the authority to activate that many lines (talking like you own a business.) You see if you knew the facts with business dealings and had any sort of ownership in a business, I think you you would start to comprehend that what you did was dirty. Dirty in the fact that they did assist you with your problem and you still did not acknowledge the effort and left. Any business owner wouldn't do that because they would understand the entirety of the situation at hand. By t...

ShockOpera,

T-Mobile is now out $300 for a phone and $960 a year for your service. Are you aware of T-Mobile's yearly income? It is far greater than your $960. So really you didnt win, you havent put T-Mobile out any, and there is thing called karma, it coming straight for you! I hope your proud of yourself, and the little move your pulled on T-Mobile because all you did was hurt yourself. We don't always get exactly what want in life, but that doesnt mean we get to cheat and quit. It means we wait, and be polite. T-Mobile surely has a policy that after so many warranty returns, you get a new phone of EQUAL OR LESSER VALUE, obviously, your phone was not equal to the pearl. I'm just sorry you couldn't grasp that.

And this is a huge reason why all carriers are behind other countries. I had a great example the other day on American cell users versus UK cell users. The first difference was in regards to cell phone costs, the first always wants to know what they can get for free, and the latter is asking what do I need to pay to get into a decent phone. This all spins from the firsts opinion of themselves and their wonderful entitlement and worth as entering in the cellular world. What is "X" carrier going to do for me. (on this subject why do people always come in telling me how much they spend per month on their service? I don't care, you are not donating money to said company, you chose and signed up for the service AND additional features you wanted ...

I often read these threads but never comment. I had to because of this retarded shockopera. I will say things that make complete sense and I am being 100% serious about and others that I just have to say because I can't be serious all the time.

1.) HTC sucks and you are retarded for not knowing that in the first place.

2.) Do not complain about a rebate you did not receive "years" ago. You are too stupid to fill the rebate out properly, therefore you don't deserve one. You are probably one of those people who thinks rebates are a scam. Well, for idiots like yourself, yes they are. You should have followed up on the rebate "years" ago. Don't try to use that as ammo this time around.

3.) Of course you have a big, important busin...

Well, I have not read all of the responds to this post, but I can tell you just in general terms. T-Mobile is a SERVICE provider. If you do not like the Dash than you should contact HTC for a refund. T-Mobile did not manufacter the phone and therefore really have nothing to do with the equation, except that they sold you the device, because in order for you to sign up for wireless service you are going to need some sort of device.

Your real qualm is with HTC and that is the way it works with any carrier, and with any manufacturer.

Sorry about your luck, but the Blast is definitely worth the $79.99 in my personal opinion.
