OK>............

I used to have tmobile a while back but the reason I am asking this question is because I cannot remember,

The places on Tmobile you have absolutely no coverage>>????? BEcause my friend has tmobile and every where on that map they do not have service that is in the light gray area she will roam off of cingular or some other company. I am currently located in ATLANTA, GA and am thnking about going back to tmobile because all of my friends are downsizing and I am trying to make it easy for them to call me and not rack up a big phone bill.

But my question is in the light gray areas do you just not have any coverage or do you roam they just dont tell you ????????

Thanks

On a T-Mobile nationwide plan, you can "roam" on another providers network for free. So, if your phone shows Cingular on it, it's still the same as calling from your "home" network.

Please remember though that T-Mobile customers can only roam on the Cingular network in very limited areas. I don't know about the Atlanta area, but here in Massachusetts in areas that do not have T-mobile coverage but do have Cingular coverage we are NOT allowed to roam on Cingular. I can go into my phone and search available networks, but if I try to connect to Cingular, even when T-Mobile is not available it is a no go.

besides, t-mob has a thing in their TOS where if you roam more than 50% of the time they will drop you.

I think every carrier has that in their TOS. No carrier wants a customer that's actually COSTING them money.

But it's extremely rare to hear t-mobile do that. Cingular is known to do that much more than t-mobile. There are quite a few people in places like north carolina with no native t-mobile service that have been roaming for years without a peep from t-mobile.

Im a little north of atlanta and spend a good bit of time in the city. What areas are you concerned about coverage in Atl? I have both sprint an t-mobile.

I have to travel highway 411 alot going back and forth to Tennessee, and I am trying to avoid Cingular/AT&T because I had a bad experience with them and so I am looking to go with something cheaper for Voice and Data.I currently have Verizon for my voice, but I think there Data prices are outrageous compared to everyone else except Cingular. I don't care about Data Speeds although I am leaning toward sprint, I am still considering T-mobile as an option.

if you do allot of data I would say sprint. Only cuz tmobile web service is pretty limited. Until they upgrade to 3g it will probably remain that way.
