okay. i know that cingular is only changing its name to at&t. it's just a name change, i know. are rollover mintues really going to be taken away? am i going to be forced to change to a new plan? these are just a few questions.

ohh and are there going to be a change in terms of services? if there are does that mean i can leave without paying cancellation?

i would like polite answers.
if you are going to be rude
and critize my questions i
would prefer you not to answer.

As kind as I can be: it is a NAME CHANGE ONLY. If you know this, then you would know nothing else is changing. Rollover is not leaving, we just have a new set of plans to join it. You cannot be forced to do anything, you keep your plan until you change it. As for TOS I doubt it, they night say AT&T instead of Cingular. As far as leaving and the ETF I hope they double it. A name change is no reason to leave.

Sure.. make people really hate you and the company.. but that is unrealistic as it would cause an Sh*t load of FTC complaints and Cingy would get reamed a new behind....

Or is it you are nervous that so many would leave that you would rather make it too financially painful to leave so that they stay instead of keeping them with the quality of your service.. Brilliant..

I am nervous about people leaving, leaving for no reason. Many are complaining of the name change and think that their service will change. If they are too busy to look into what's really going on then **** them, they can pay more.

AT&T/ Cingular sucks. I paid 150 to kill my contract. I'd love to know who they compared cell service with to state they have the fewest dropped calls. My calls dropped way more than my Nextel. Its enevitable that people will kill there contracts in search of better service.

That was a great move get rid of the biggest carrier in the US to go to the one company that sold its entire network to the US goverment in a couple of years there wont even be a Nextell network.

Hmmm last time I checked Verizon was the biggest carrier in the US. Even they have better reception and voice quality than Cingular/at&t. Cingular with the fewest dropped calls my ass. LOL. O snap you actually have to be able to make a call before it can be dropped. 🤣

There are clauses built into the TOS that do not allow you to leave w/o penalty (ETF) in instances of name-changes or mergers.

It's only a matter of time before ETF's go back on the agenda of the FCC's meetings. I don't see how they can abolish ETF(s) w/o some kind of recourse on behalf of the carriers with subsidies...

The only way is to do away with subsidies. Like Europe. Personally, I'd just rather pay the ETF, or stick it out. For most of the customers in the country, they never bump into the ETF, therefore it doesn't affect them.
