ok so heres the deal .. my gf lives in Canada and shes having issues with her "new" 710 .. powering down and rebooting in mid call least once a day
when i was there we took it to the Telus store and they removed the batt cover and the sticker was red .. now i know she didnt get it wet .. she lives in a rather muggy humid area and the sales rep said that could be the reason it went red .. i personally think thats BS .. if a phone cant withstand humid weather WTF .. we just walked away without giving any info .. i assume there is a sticker inside and i bet my ass that its NOT red . .. the sticker on the back was half red .. cause its kinda stuck under the casing and that part isnt red .. just a tiny bit of it was
sooooo i want to buy a...

humidity wouldn't turn it red
pink at best but not completely red
...
yeah its definatly a slight pink .. and only part of it .. they claim the warrentee is void if any part is remotly red

Send it to the manufacturer with that explanation. They will examine the handset and determine if the problem is due to humidity. If it is then sorry but it is not their fault.
The store will not swap it because they do not have the technical equipment to determine the issue either way, hence the reason for the sticker.

i was looking to buy the actual stickers
i wanna replace the one on the back so they have to go inside and see that there was no true water damage
that sticker just gives them an out .. claiming it get wet when it didnt
...
its hard to find those things man.......they are like the official warranty sticker inside of pc's.......you have to know somebody that knows somebody.
try scratching the dot off so they have to take it apart to see the problem.
...
In my store, if the sticker is gone that's the same thing as the sticker being red. We can't fix it and we won't even try.
...
Then send it to the manufacturer. If your true goal is not to rip them off then this will meet said goal.
...
yeah dude......that's a great idea.....fraud.
if you honestly have a case, do what Tdub says and contact the manufacturer. They will be able to see if there has been corrosion on the circuits or contacts.
...
whats the usual wait time on that?
how long will she be without a phone

Every customer that comes in with that bs story about how they "know for a fact" that they didnt get it wet and demand a new phone needs to take a lesson from this guy...just rip off the manufacturer...I'm all for it, screw those guys. With their stupid stickers that says if the phone got wet...and to think they dont even cover water damage with the warrenty...they should know these things are attracted to water. h**l, if they can make refrigerators with TVs in them, they can make these phones waterproof. good luck man...good luck

Why don't you take one from another phone and put it on this phone?
Are you reeeeeally sure that the phone was not exposed to liquids? It didn't have to "fall" in water. My dad messed up his phone by just taking it to the restroom with him while he was taking a shower (he didn't want to miss a call, I guess lol)

Was the sticker a matte finish or a glossy finish? The matte finish (looks more like a plain paper) can be affected by "direct and prolonged" exposure to very high humidity (battery and cover would have to be off) but the glossy one has to be directly exposed to liquid, humidity alone would not turn the glossy style sticker. Not trying to call you a lier but it most likely got wet somehow.
