Cingular Network Achieves 'Most Reliable,' 'Fewest Dropped Calls' Status in More Places
-The latest drive tests by independent, third-party researchers have confirmed that Cingular's network excellence continues to grow.
The following cities have achieved "most reliable" network and "fewest dropped calls" status among national carriers:
· Baton Rouge, La.
· Cincinnati, Ohio
· Fort Smith, Ark.
· Hammond, La.
· Jackson, Miss.
· Oklahoma City, Okla.
· Pine Bluff, Ark.
· Portland, Maine
· Washington, D.C., suburbs
These cities have achieved "most reliable" network status among national carriers:
· Bloomington, Ind.

Of course if any of this were true why doesn't cingular provide the test results to the rest of the country. It seems to me this is something to be proud of why not make the studies public instead of keeping the results locked away???
Anyway, good luck to cingy
If not, you will soon. 😉
Next time you drop a call on Cingular's network you wont be so proud of all their stupid ad's..
They are not just ads EVER HEARD OF FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and what it does to a co. there have to be some facts behind them!!!! I'm only asking why this facts are only released to Cingy employees??? I am also asking why all the other consumer report and test people do not with this "leading independent research co." findings???? Anxiovert continues to post this BULLSHIT and when confronted for some facts he never responds!!! But, from my understanding cingy teachs there staff to be full of BS (that's why the low ratings in CS)
Also CONGRATS to Cingular for turning a profit for the first time in 3 years WHoaa let the party begin. I'm surprised the Q1 phone call wasn't dr...

Like it or not, Telephia is an independant company, unlike Verizon's "internal studies". Forbes isn't knocking them, but yet you are.

a small san francisco based "company" they were in the news in statements from cingular in november of 2004 with telephia saying cingular is number 1 in that area, contrary to the consumer reports out at the time. and then them declining to publish those results.
Also what is "national carrier" i cant speak to most of those other areas, but huntington, ripley and charleston WV are all in the same general area, cingular has less coverage in the stater of west virginia than any other company, i wouldnt be suprised if cricket beat them out here. Verizon owns nothing in the state of west virginia, as far as CDMA it is divided between Altel and Us Cellular. So what is a National Carrier?
JD Powers used subjective opinions to survey an area based on polling data from less than 1/2 of 1% of a particular customer base. Telephia uses marketing, drive test and sales mix data to publish reports (depending on the particular report at that time). It is objective and cannot be swayed by a small % of a customer base's opinion due to the sheer volume of data used to compile said reports. Did Verizon do better in it's survey than Cingular did in No Cal according to JD Powers? I guess so (going by your post above). Did Telephia's data show Cingular dropped less calls than Verizon (if that is what the report said which you cited), yes.
And declining ...

I cannot trust telephia because they are a no-name group that is funded by venture capitalists, all of their "press releases" all start out with "telephia is the leading provider of ______ for the mobile communications industry" (replacing the blank with a different praise for them) It is in their best interest to pick a side, they are a for hire group, that is to say they offer their services and then provide findings that would be in their best interest to be favorable to their client. Go to their website take a look at their "studies" Most of them don't even make sense! They list white peo...

"Jack created BellSouth's early mobile strategy and directed the cellular expansion through numerous joint ventures and acquisitions."
Another of its "board members" used to be on the board of Airtouch
"Jack" also sits on the board of XM Radio, so expect them to publish findings that "Sirius is for B*tches"
"In fact, the trendy, all-but-ubiquitous phone boasts the highest market share of any individual handset in both the U.S. and Europe, according to Telephia, a mobile market research firm."
Uhh no **** I could've told you this by the amount of them I've sold. It really didn't take "experts" to figure this out!!!
It just amazes me that cingy puts so much faith in telephia studies when CR and JD Power tell a different story!
Also nowhere in the article does WSJ say that telephia is the leading independent research co. Tex please just face facts Vzw HAS a better network! Sure cingy works great in some places and yep they had an awesome...

"Volume 1 of the 2006 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study is based on responses from 23,368 wireless users. The results are from the two most recent reporting waves, which were conducted in October 2005 and February 2006. Volume 2 of the 2006 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study will be issued in September 2006."
You do the math: 23,368 people polled, out of how many cell phone users in the nation, hmmmmm, thats like doing a presidential poll and polling everybody in one backwoods town in North Dakota, and saying hey, Ross Perot is the favorite for president in 2008...

i forgot people in online arguments dont like to look up stuff for themselves... my bad.

my posts are not so much about cingular as they are about telephia. I am not a cell phone carrier troll who bows to his corporate master.
You know its funny soeone who like their product and defends their point of view is a troll.
Well then i'm a Sanyo phone troll, and a sony tv troll as well.
They are trolls??? they are people who have a product they like and believe in, their product
provides them with what they need ,and they don't like it when people disrespect their product.
its just the same feelings people get like going to Fenway Park and yelling the "Red Sox suck", i guess all those people in the stands would be considered trolls too!!!!!

ok... i dont know if you are unintentionally not understanding this but let me put it simply and crass... if you have a corporate logo in your avatar, you officially care too much about your corporate overlord....
Ok, and this is coming from someone with an AK Press logo as Avatar????? 🙄 #%&$, please! give me a #%$&!# break!
Telephia on the other hand does not seem to be the most legitimate source, and nobody has really addressed that aspect of that. If i cared about your cheerleading i would have replied to you, but my questions were for someone a little more intelligent about telephia, like texaswireless, which is why i replied to him.

Please don't tell me you seriously think that 30,000 random people telling how their service is, is more reliable than a company that that test drives almost every major market in the US, placing hundreds of thousands of test calls and logging each ones data into a statistical anaylysis of each area.
I would choose 30,000 random people over a controlled company that makes money off selling reports to said companies they are reporting about.
Lets see... Telephia knows that Cingular needs a good PR boost so they create an environment where they can shape their outcome to what Cingular would want using the best cell phones that Cingular offers, prime locations, proper battery charging...

But the fact that you and a few other want to witch hunt with Telephia is hilarious. It counters your religious doctrine about Verizon so you do everything you can to knock them.
Sorry, but if WSJ or Forbes is willing to publish their name in an article as a cited reference and NOT mention all the biases you guys dig up then I (as will any other sane person) will take them as reasonable facts.

Cingy is a lost company who doesn't know if they want to be cingy or ATT. Too Bad. By the way-the worst customer service ever!! Dell beats these guys. I feel bad for the people stuck in 2 yr contracts with such poor performance in a company. 😛 🤣 😉 😳
Too bad you can't see the forrest for the trees.att is a world name brand.Cingular was only a recently new company. In that short time and through mergers and buyouts manageed to build the biggerest wireless company.
As for customer service, its a growing period since merging of all the company's, and let's also be real, certain customers will complain because thats how they spend their day.
Notice how VZW preached the network, ...

I find it interesting that although Cingular is the biggest carrier, even it's employees have to say that Verizon is STILL the best. Cingular matches VZW pricing, and now it's marketing strategy. Cingular fans are now wanting to brag about something verizon has been saying for years. No wonder vzw is the industry leader. Now that vzw is strengthening and expanding its data network, as well as refreshing its handset lineup, it will continue to be the carrier everyone strives to emulate.
So how long have you worked in VZW's marketing department? 😛
I couldn't even tell you where these places are, and this is Cingy's claim to fame. Wow, keep up the good work guys. The Allover network just keeps taking big market after big market. Congrats Cingy, now the only metropolis' left for you to take over are ****sville, WI.-Borger, TX and any city in North Dakota 🤣
For example I live in Chicago and would like to know which carrier scored highest here.
Thank you.
🙂
Please explain how T-mobile and Verizon are the best.
Hopefully cingular will make public the street level maps so people can judge for themselves. (without having a cingular employee right next to them.)
🙄
I drove cross country from Tennessee to Flagstaff on Rte 40 west bound and I thought was in another world driving through Arkansas, not a good world either.
Telephia has came out and said to the Boston Globe that they will not be releasing any specific information concerning their tests.
I just recently added Cingular service and I am for the most part happy with the service but I'm going to call a turd a turd when I read it.

Did you just make this up?.
No, I didn't make this up. 😎
This is internal info. Well, not so internal anymore, since there's ads and billboards re-establishing this claim. 😛
