Just ordered my new Sony Ericsson w600i, and cingular is telling me that only a charger and battery are included, but I'm reading on the Sony Ericsson, and cingular websites that software, extra faceplate, and headphones are included. Does anyone know for sure whats included? I would like to be able to hook it up to the PC and load my music as soon as it comes in the mail.

The headphones and software should be included, but I wouldn't be surprised if the extra faceplates were dropped. We haven't gotten them in our store yet even though our orders are in place, so I can't tell you what it contains from first hand experience.

mine came with the extra faceplate, usb cable, headphones, and adapter for regular 2.5mm headphones. Oh, and the software as well. I've only gotten one in, so I have no idea if they have droped anything from the package in the last week or so...

Note: observation by a 5-yr Cingular customer)

I know the CSR's don't want to believe this, but Cingular does NOT grant ANY significant discounts to their customers.

For example, the same SE phone is advertised on Buy.com, today, at $180,

LESS $100 (for the 2-yr activation rebate)

LESS ANOTHER $ 80 (rebate from Buy.com).So, the NET-NET cost is ZERO for a new 2-yr customer.

SO, a current customer pays a "bargain" 200 bucks for upgrade to a new phone, IF he's willing to commit to another 24-mos ...

while his next-door neighbor gets the same phone, same commitment for NUTHIN! GO FIGURE!

(THAT's what "Raising the Bar" means! Unfortunately, that bar is resting under MY GONADS when they start lifting!

when dealing with 3rd party venders like that you have to watch out for being contracted by the vendor also. for example: wirefly had a deal where the motorola v551 was for free upfront cost. but the t's & a's clearly stated that i would be billed the 2year cost of each phone ($350.00) on the first bill then would have to keep my contract for a year and have been current on ALL payments. then after that they credit my bill or send me a check in the mail. making the phone free upfront but billed to me. then it also stated that if i terminated my contract with cingular i would be paying an etf with them also.

so needless to say i too my @$$ to a store. 😁
