Okay, so our store was short staffed for a while & our manager started working us with amazing overtime that was no fun. Now we are fully staffed & are working even longer hours than before. I know corporate came out & said no more overtime other than an hour a week, but we're working 50 hours a week here. By the end of the day, we've had a ton of rude and mean customers and don't want to look at another person who comes in looking mean. There should be something we can do to adjust our hours because 10-12 hour days are no good for us or for our customer service skills. Anybody got any ideas?

Find everyone's sceduling needs and make up a schedule to present to your boss. If you can work it out so the peak times are fully staffed, maybe you can work out shorter shifts for everyone who wants them.

There is no way you could be complaining about overtime unless you're twenty years old or forty and never been married. Take the money and run!

yea we work about 50-55 a week.. i love it . kind of hate it when i get 40.. pay sucks

I live right at an hour away from where I work (an hour and a half if I have an opening shift). Overtime is good, but when you try to have any type of a life & your manager doesn't understand the concept of scheduling and changes it each day without notice, overtime begins to become a pain. Before you ask why I live so far away, I was in the kiosk program and this was the closest store to work at that had an opening instead of me being laid off. Last week I worked 50 hours. My drie time was 11 hours. My off days weren't even together. I need personal time too! My job is not my life, it just funds it!!!

not to mention... we have already tried changing the schedule and our manager won't do it because it wasn't his idea. he only works 40 hours a week and we all work 50. how's that for fair? he gets to leave whenever he has anything he needs to do in his life other than work.

I hear you on that... My store is slooted for 5.5 people (5 fulltime reps and 1 one part time). My store only has two full time reps and 1 part time... I feel your pain. I wish there was a way to get away from the OT too.
