Deal with it

Ok, regardless of which forum this is, as long as the topic is not disgustingly off topic (ie, the new car suzie got today) then I'm sure we're ok. As long as no one is being rude, racist or severly inapropriate, deal with the posts and don't read them if you don't like them. by commenting and participating in a post you dont agree with, shows you are a hypocrite. Also, if the site owner had a problem with it, and wanted it to stop, he would post in here requesting it. Until then, just dont read something that bothers you. Thats like the guy who was watching fear factor and got grossed out and passed out and knocked his head open on his coffee table and tried to sue the network. their reply "why didn't you just change the channel?"

You are absolutely right. This forum is to discuss cingular related issues. As long as it is related to cingular technically it is allowed in here. The posts that you just made with the links were for people talking about non-cingular related topics all except for the one about POSII. That belongs in Shop Talk.

It is Rich's job to monitor and re-route people to the correct forum, not yours.

Let this be noted for Rich...
I can't stand coming in the Cingular forum anymore simply because of people like this. People who try to play your role. It makes it even more so annoying than the people who post about stupid things. I would much rather read something that belongs in the Shop Talk forum that captainplooky's bs anyday. Why?...

Actually - had you read Rich's posts and actually remembered them - you would see that he has asked everyone to report posts via the "report to moderator" link when such posts fall outside of the scope of the forum or violate the "Terms of Use"

Unless you expect Rich to commit all his time to the forums - which is quite silly - what you are asking/expecting is quite unreasonable.

If you do not like the posts I add - then do not read them. It is as simple as that. However - I believe the problem lies more with the fact that my opinions and statements are contrary to yours and I am further willing to highlight the utter stupidity in many of the posts I comment in.

Your posts about you arriving at work, being bored, leaving work, and...

I dont know what you are reading but I dont post about stuff like that in the Cingular forum. I post in the Lounge for numerous reasons.

I stand by what I said. You are right. RICH is the moderator, not you. If YOU have a problem with something, then REPORT IT! Dont come on here telling people what not to post. Not your job.

I honestly think he does if he can find all that info and post it. Maybe he is a machine that is hell bent on pushing off our posts to the lounge or shop talk. Problem is, no one wants to move, we are all here posting away.

I myself tried to persuade the few and many to the lounge but alas, nobody listened. Everyone is here to post about Cingular issues, weather they relate to the company or kinda relate.

No offense or anything here to the admin. Rich Brome, but he might have to shut things down here to get everyone over to the proper areas. It's gonna be too much work for him to move things himself but if people could honestly get some conversations moved over there, it would please the phonescoop god himself... please people?!?!?

You know what, I did the same thing a bit back and it took me 3 minutes. While not often I agree with pooky bear here. Rich has posted MANY time for this stuff to change and people just completely just disregard them or just shout "public forum" and think they can do as they please.

I am sure I have strayed off topic as well, but I never start a thread that way.

Haha truth be told - I got most of the links from TxWireless - I was gonna do it myself before but found that TxWireless had already done it.

Then when this situation came up again - I figured - "why re-invent the wheel" - and used the links you had allready put together.

Yeah, and you know this is the only forum that has any personal stuff on it. Go look at the verizon, sprint, t-mobile forums. They all have postings that are about cell phones and services, not about making fun of evil customers or throwing a temper tantrum just because I posted a comment that set one person off.

You are incorrect. I myself have posted numerous threads in the TMo forum about stupid customer tricks and stupid dealer tricks, and the Verizon forum has its fair share of irrelevant trolling activity as well. This forum, however, is populated by large numbers of reps who work together and it's pretty normal that they'll be chitchatting. It's incredibly easy to identify wha...

What is people want to read here then Tadams?

Is it the constant complaints about how customers are stupid in the very forum that is supposed to be customer oriented?

Is it the useless posts concerning people being bored, arriving at work, leaving work, taking lunch, wondering if coworkers have arrived to work, wondering if coworkers have left for lunch, and other such nonsensical posts?

Is it posts that are obviously ignore the numerous threads I have highlighted by the Moderator asking that such threads be contained to the Lounge and Shop Talk?

Perhaps posts such as yours now whining instead about customers but about people merely asking you to respect what the moderator has asked of us?

How humorous.

I guess you didn't see the thread where I showed around 8 posts where Rich has said what this forum was designed to offer.

It is about Cingular for Cingular customers and industry folks who offer help to their questions.

Shop talk is for insider stuff, lounge is for B.S.

I guess i just find it somewhat humorous that everyone gets worked up over a few paragraphs written by A. bored or un-knowing customers or B.Employees who are bored out of their mind and cant go to "un-work related" websites. this is the only satisfactory thing i get to do all day, and its sitting here reading posts about people complaining in a post about people who post non cingular related issues, IN THIS POST NON RELATED TO CINGULAR. I love it, its the best part of my day.

Okay, I'll take your advice.

I'm the site owner, and I created the Lounge forum for a reason. If you want to post chit-chat or start off-topic threads, please do so in the Lounge forum.

I also created the Shop Talk forum for a reason. If you want to bring up workplace issues that have no relevance for consumers, or bitch and moan about your job and/or customers, please do so in the Shop Talk forum.

Thank you.

Rich,

I am a member of a music forum where if the moderater does not like what someone posts (in that they broke forum rules) the post would be deleted, and if the person who broke the rules conintued to do so, then the moderater would delete thier user account.

Also, if someone posted a topic that is off-topic, then the moderaters would move the post to the correct topic category.

Maybe move posts to thier appropriate topic, but I don't know what system you are using for your forum.

The forum I am referring to:
http://www.davault.net/bbs/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl#artist »

They post thier forum rules like you did here, and they strongly enforce them, which keeps the riff raff to a minimum

Just trying to help you cause I love thi...

The forum system is homegrown. There are reasons I chose that route, and it has its advantages.

It also has its disadvantages. For example, we don't yet have a way to lock or move threads.

Nor do we have a way to handle volunteer moderators. So we're stuck with just the two of us moderating for the whole site, which isn't easy.

But we do the best we can. Thanks for the feedback.

Really... ~evil laugh~ just kidding, I am trying to get people to move the off-topics to the lounge and shop talk but some people, as you can clearly see, think their posts are on-topic.

I will keep trying and hope some more people realize. Until then gonna raze the heck out of Captainplooky and the other people to move it or lose it.
