Just saw two working models of the LG 1500 and 2000.

Very cool handsets (speakerphone) but no PTT.

I've only seen their photos. Do you think they'll actually be out this month as expected?

I don't understand all the hoopla over an LG handset. Everyone I know who has had one never got another one. Have they improved something? Do the batteries really standby over 24hrs now? Does the phone last the length of a 2-yr contract?

Enlighten me please. No doubt something's improved, but what is it?

As far as I know and this is customer/dealer input, most LG's are POS's. I've not heard to many complaints about the 1400's but the 1300's are real pieces of garbage. But technology is one of the few endeavors that has room for nothing but improvement. 😉

Think they'll be an improvement over what's come before (from LG), Tex?

I think they look good. I also personally like the 1400, so take that for what it is worth. The 1500 also had an external color screen and mp3 ringtones. At the same price point as the 1300 that was pretty cool.

I like the addition of the speakerphone but no bluetooth is unfortunate. Per the reps explantion, the bluetooth was in the PTT model and was pushed back along with the PTT release date. I personally can't use a phone w/o BT, I am a handsfree junkie.

I was a fan of the L1400 in that it had a very pleasing physical design...but man, did the one my buddy had have some major, major problems. Plus, I've heard of problems with the 1200 and 1300.

So the 1500 is going to cost customers the same thing the 1300 did? That's not too good for dealers since the 1500 is $29 more than the 1300.

Well, come September the cost could be lower and a rebate could be available. We'll see.

Let's hope! The profit margin on the c1300 already wasn't as high as other handsets. I'll sell a person whatever they want, but it's nice to make money while doing so.

Kinda nice, we make $16 more selling the LG 1300 over the Samsung X427, plus it is a better handset (IMO).

ALL LG PHONES ARE HOT GARBAGE... They may look good but you might as well get insurance becasue they will make you throw it against a wall in about 6 months.

I disagree, the CDMA phones are known to be very good. Hopefully with the next set of GSM phones we shall see much needed improvement.

I think they've progressively gotten better, but they're still not great, just not bad. If they keep improving at the same rate then I expect good things from them, just like Sony Ericsson has done.

I'd have to agree..the CDMA phones are excellent. I had one that was a tough little thing with amazing reception. Now I have a Motorola and I just want to shoot myself. You'd think a new phone that cost three times as much would at least get the same reception, but nope...worse and lots of system problems. I've heard the 1300 is junk, but I've heard good things about the 1400 except battery life. Is that correct?
