Somebody was trying to tell me that Bluetooth is no longer going to be used within the next year because a new technology will be comming out that is better than it. I dont beleive her at all, but i cant find anything anywhere about it. I know Wi-fi is comming out and i think thats what she mentioned as the replacer, but I thought Wi-Fi was more complimentary to bluetooth than about to replace it. Anybody able to help me out?

Wi-Fi is a wireless internet connection. like using a data connect card. has absolutely nothing to do with bluetooth. wi-fi won't connect your bluetooth earpiece!

Thats what i was thinking as well, but you never know if something comes out that you havent heard of. It might not be wi-fi, it might be something else, but I pretty much thought bluetooth would be around for quite some time, and she seems to have been told it will be gone soon anyway.

actually Wi-Fi can replace bluetooth. Wi-Fi operates on the 2.4 ghz spectrum, same as most modern cordless phones. This could be used for headsets, connectivity, etc. would be better for most people to sync with their PC's as people are more likely to have a wi-fi connection in their house than a bluetooth dongle.
