Just use your cell phone and buy an internet connection package 😕

I feel your pain - all to often - it seems employeers fail to realize how the mind works and that occasional diversions during work make people more productive instead of less productive.

Go figure.

Dude, it could be worse--I've worked in places where the proxy server was so tight it wouldn't even allow access to parts of the company's own web site! Now THAT was embarrassing... 🙄

You are experiencing what Legacy Orange call centers have been dealing with for years... If you had a site that was helpful for your JOB, then you can submit it to get opened up...

Don't blame management, blame your co-workers for abusing the old system.

The demand for website blocking was created by employers trying to block employees from downloading viruses and inappropriate content.

I did not lock down my computers until it was first abused by employees. I trusted them until they repeatedly broke my trust. They gave me the reason, not the other way around.

You only need spend a day or two reloading system software because some moron needed a distraction.

Bring a book for your break.

My computers in the store I own now are not blocked, but I guarantee if one of my guys breaks my rule they will be locked down real quick.

I trust people until they give me a reason not to trust them. I may get burned more than others but I hope some loyalty will develop if I let them exercise good judgement rather than not let them try at all.

They could have at least left us with cnn.org. there was no harm in going to that site. or alternet.org for that matter.

Except that I am sure employees have been using it while on calls, etc. It is much easier for an employer to lock everything out when too many people abuse the system.

a few bad apples but they didn't have to block the site. Whats next? they mute the microphones because some reps get nasty with customers?
