Hello everyone,

I have two family members on my account that need a new phone.

They prefer a good sized touch screen phone.

The only ones that seems to appeal to them are the HTC freestyle, LG Encore and a few pantech phones.

Does anyone know if there are going to be any phones from samsung, HTC or LG soon?

I am sure someone high up in corporate may know, but they never release advance info on devices.

Right! Since I an in telesales, I usually hear about new devices from my customers! People just do not beleive when I tell them we do not hear about new devices until official corporate announcements are released.

The selection for just *everyday plain phones* is starting to get slim.

It's either iOS, android or windows nowadays.

It would be nice if samsung or HTC would release a nice feature rich touch screen phone.

Doc - the reason for that is that the demand for data is so huge (or at least it is so in the corporate world). Of over 30 orders so far this month, I have yet to sell anything other than a smartphone or an air card.

Yes you are right but for example both my younger cousins have an samsung flight and samsung solstice with the unlimited data/text/multimedia $30 package that and gets 23% off thru a work corporate discount (I think after taxes it's around $25).

To get an android phone they will have to change the data plan (They use alot so the 2GB datapro $25 and then add unlimited messaging $20) so that's $45 dollars minus the discount still makes it around $35 a month extra.

The HTC freestyle on paper looks like a good non smartphone option but the reviews on websites say it's kind of buggy.

Is AT&T going to phase out that plan and the phones that can use it or will they grandfather them into that plan with an android phone?

When you switch from a non-smartphone with data to a smartphone, you always have to switch data plans. The only time you keep unlimited data is when you switch within your phone type (so smartphone with unlimited data can switch to smartphone, or non-smartphone to non-smartphone, but not non-smartphone to smartphone).

Yah I know.

All some of us consumers want for christmas is a nice feature phone.
Nice touchscreen.
Decent browser.
Decent camera with flash.
Fm Radio

I upgraded to the Galaxy II from an LG phone and sometimes when I pay the monthly bill it makes me want to go back to a feature phone.

Look into unlocked devices direct from manufacturers.
