Cheap phone advice

[de-lurk]

Hello all.

The wife's birthday is coming up, and she's been complaining recently about her D407 getting fuzzy & scratchy on calls - plus, it's just time for a new phone.

The criteria:

- Cheap; I'm on AT&T ERP, so it's got to be a phone that would be reasonable at the no-contract price, or relatively cheap unlocked. I'm not above getting a Go-phone if there's a phone worth having.

- Bluetooth; I live in WA, where it's illegal to drive & talk without a headset.

- Syncs with contacts/calendar via Bluetooth or USB.

- GPS/Nav would be nice to have, but not a requirement.

As far as I know, the old RAZR V3 meets the first 3 criteria, and can be found (new) quite cheap, but I'd rather get her something newer.

What happened to this board? Not a single person willing to offer an opinion? Not even some smart@$$ "switch to [carrier], 'cuz AT&T SUX!" ๐Ÿ˜‰

I guess I'll just go with the LG Prime GoPhone, then. ๐Ÿ™„

I dunno what the mods have to do with it - the phoen reviews & phone catalog have stayed excellent. The discussion boards used to be really rowdy - used to be a need for even more moderators because of various flame wars & whatnot.

Now...

Yeesh! ๐Ÿ˜ข

they could have stooped and closed all discussions that were stupid like a new iphone one everyday. Other forums will close a thread quick if it doesn't bring anything new to a forum. And then deal with the ones that keep doing it.

Example 1:

If your site allows posts like these, you're going to lose any helpful traffic quickly and soon it will fall into a bunch of unhelpful trolling/nonsense like this site has become.

I'd also look at the noka 2720 contract free. Around same price as a prime.

Um except that 2720 doesn't do 2 of the 3 freaking things he wants the phone to do. No PC synch no gps. Try a nokia 6350.

you have 2 options.. you can go for the PRIME with go phone or with RUMOR TOUCH with virgin mobile... both are good.. obviously att has more coverage than virgin mobile but virgin mobile is cheaper and is unlimited everything.. you choose... hope i helped you a lil.. ๐Ÿ˜

I tried its too close. I have read sprint covers 295 million people while att covers 270 million. Not sure if that roaming too or what.

That's more like the message board days of old...

I was waiting for some form of "go with carrier x, they're better than AT&T!"

.... despite my mentioning I'm on AT&T ERP (ie - I work for AT&T) ๐Ÿ™„

However - your point isn't without merit: my mom has been on Virgin Mobile for years in the LA area, and has been quite happy with them. ๐Ÿ™‚
