So Cingular Bought AT@T Wireless And SBC bought AT@T everything I have a few questions
AT@T customers will be forced to migrate or go back to being an AT@T wireless customer later this month..
BUT..
SBC bought AT@T so in a few months you will be, no matter what, a cingular customer.
And then AT@T agreed to cell pay per use cell phones on the sprint network before the merger now AT@T head honchos say
*We might not have a problem selling services thru cingular*
Is that not breach of contract if there was one signed.
Who exactly owns what and how is the Cingular-SBC company broken down?
And how will they both finally absorb the AT@T landlines and wireless? 😳

Nobody is being forced to migrate to cingular. The only thing that is going to happen by the end of this month is cingular is not going to be mentioning AT&T wireless anymore. People who like their AT&T plan can stay there but if they want to change their plan they must migrate and take a cingular plan. If they want to add a line to their account they must migrate to cingular. SBC is a seperate company from cingular and their purchase of AT&T corp has not even been approved by the FCC. Until then or close to approval date we will not know anything. Cingular is owned 60% by SBC and 40% by Bellsouth. The AT&T wireless purchase was done by Cingular LLC with money loaned to them by their parent companies.

Ma Bell, coming back together again. Isn't that nice. Same thing happened with the oil companies. Standard oil got broken up into 5 companies, Exxon, Mobile, Chevron, Arco, and Amoco. Exxon and Mobile have merged and so has Shell and Texaco. Guess it's just the business cycle doing what it does best.
