I went over by more than 500 minutes this month.

Thank god I have Rollover with AT&T, because this past month was so crazy that even I was shocked when I realized I had gone over for so many minutes. I still have 170+ minutes left. I'm never leaving AT&T!

Counting minutes at all sucks! Rollover to me is such a gimmick. If you have so many minutes it means you were on the wrong plan for a long time. Regardless, unlimited is going to be the new standard much sooner than anyone thinks.

Ummm no rollover isn't a gimmick. Some peoples usage fluctuates throughout the year and to make a blanket statement like that proves that you have no idea what your talking about.

Yeah - That's all you ever hear. 'if you are using rollover you are on the wrong plan'

c'mon. You mean after 7+ years of rollover the slappies haven't come up with a better way to overcome that objection?

After 7 years of a gimmick, that's all that you need to know. If you're on $59.99 and you're rolling over 400 minutes every month, you're on the wrong plan...and that's what a lot of the AT&T drones do.

I don't work in the industry so I don't want to promote anyone in particular. I'll say it again though, counting minutes is BS. Good competition from the prepaids like Metro, Cricket, and yes...even Boost will cause a price war.

So your on a $59.99 900 minute plan, rolling over 400. That's the wrong plan? So you should be on a $39.99 450 minute plan paying an extra $22.50 (50 minutes over at $.45 a minute) because your using 500? And then when someone goes in the hospital and you use an extra 500 minutes just pay the extra $225. Okay, somebody take this guys rollover away, he doesn't want it.

In case you hadn't caught on, the general goal is to see how many minutes you use, and go to the next plan up from that number😉

And BTW, I would bet you my Blackberry, there will never a be a price war. This isn't gas or groceries. Your not even comparing apples to apples. Metro, Cricket, and Boost don't do **** compared to any of the big three. Nationwide calling? More roaming agreements? Faster data? Data that even works? Not having a piece of crap phone?

I really, really hope your right about this price war, cause I would really much rather CALL someone than txt. I hate txt'g with a passion. I think txt'g is informal, inpersonal, indirect, and immature.

Not only that but a lot can be said in as little as 1 minute, compared to how long it takes to type a whole buncha words in a stupid txt.

In the example that YOU gave you are wrong.

Hilarious how so many are so ignorant.

If you are on a $59.99 plan and you are rolling over 400 minutes that means you USED 500. 500 minutes on the next lowest plan:

$39.99 450 minutes
50 min x .45
$22.50

Total cost
$62.49

Priceless, your own example and you are wrong.

Yeah your right, you know maybe a perticular month I have more issues than the previous month and I need to do more talking than some other month.

Though I do think I'd like having unlmtd with 5 or 10 #'s like Tmo & Verizon do, than R/O.

I totally agree with you on that. Its a shame at&t doesn't offer something similar and also include roll over.

How am I on the wrong plan? I'm on the $39.99 plan. I normally rollover about 100 a month, and I've never seen them expire cuz I use them (my usage fluctuates)

OK, rolling over 100 minutes on the lowest plan is not as bad as other things you could be doing. That said, carriers should have never dropped the $29.99 and $34.99 price points.

Even so, rolling over 400 because your on a 900 using 500? Or rolling over 600 because your on a FamilyTalk 1400 using 800? There is no plan in between, so that is the correct plan and by the end of a year you could have over 7,000 rollover? Wrong plan? No, just a bonus from AT&T by allowing you to keep a bank just in case.

That said, your beating a dead horse and looking for a reason to be angry just like being on the wrong plan. You just wait until the $39.99 days go away, oh I can't wait.

That's a verizon fanboy saying that "Friends and Family" works for him and is better than anything anyone else has. That's a typical fanboy statement and wastes alot of time in these forums. If Verizon were decent they would offer F&F on their 39.99 plan as well as it would be a much more handy feature when you have only 450 minutes and not 900 and don't want to spend an extra 20.00 a month just to get the feature.

Unless you have an unlimited plan, you're counting minutes as well.

Preferably w/o having $99 per line! I have 3 lines on my acct. Including myself.

T-Mobile is already testing the waters with a $49.99 unlimited retention plan. All it will take is one of the majors to go live with a plan like that for the general public and counting minutes becomes a thing of the past.

That's good for ppl who have only themselves on they're acct, but I have 3 on my acct including myself. I don't think such a thing would apply to a family plan.

Just look to Metro PCS and their plans. This is likely how a family plan scenario will work out...again...in the near future. Pay $45 for the first line and then $20 to $35 for each other line depending on the features you want.

Well what plan should we be on? We share 550 daytime and have over 1800 in the RO account......

Not a gimmick for those who don't use a lot of prime time minutes but have months of high usage.

I am a fan of Roll Over.
I had a relative in the hospital last November and I am glad I had Roll Over. I went over 600 minutes or so with in a week, you don’t think about how much you use until something happens. I am thankful for having the extra minutes so I didn’t get hit with an extra price for going over my minutes.
