My theory behind the VZW fanboys...

Have you noticed how much the VZW fanboys posts here in AT&T to promote their carrier and respond to people's questions with the answer of "switch to Verizon Wireless!"

Here's my theory:

I go to the AT&T stores a lot, mainly to play with the display phones because its fun. But when I do have something I need to take care of like paying bills, or getting a replacement SIM, I have to wait because the reps are always busy with customers.

Well, yesterday I was walking down the Mag Mile (our number one shopping area in Chicago) and I passed AT&T, it was swamped with people. Further down the strip I walked past Verizon and all three reps working there were standing by the door looking out at everyone walking by. They looked so bored th...

If I remember correctly the mag mile is tourist laden. Toursists don't usually buy cell phones.

You'd be surprised, actually. We have Apple and Nokia and they are always packed. If only you could have seen those VZW reps' faces...never had I seen such desperate looks... 🤣

Apple just announce the iphone. The last "new" phone launch verizon pushed was the EnV3/EnvTouch. These didn't get front page splashes on tech magazines like Apple does every time they move. I can say in my store, we've sold more phones this month than we did at christmas.

Also, this be the internet. Here der be TROLLS of all stripes. There are plenty of trolls in Verizon's forums as well.

It doesn't matter because Verizon Wireless is the answer to all of our problems. Who needs religion when we have Verizon Wireless who never stops working for us!

Once they get the BB Tour, things will get better. Verizon Blackberries aren't bad, but the rest of their phones suck.

that's because most of Vz sales happen online. Their buy one BlackBerry and get 751 FREE is what's keeping them afloat.

HAHAHAHA yeah your right... It seems like every phone VZW sells gives you 4 free ones... Phone selection is absolutely terrible... The storm was a [b][size=5]HUGE[/size][/b] disappointment and still is to this date...

Reading some of the forums, I've noticed that the big thing with the verizon fan boys is the network side of things. One forum was making fun of at&t on the day the iphone launched, becasue the network got overwhelmed and itunes hard a hard time processing the iphone activations. But the thing is, if they had the iphone and as many data users on their network, they'd be in the same boat. Unfortunetly for them their "great" network doesn't have any where near the amount of data users. They can be number one all the want, at&t still beats Verizon when it comes sales and revenue.

Sorry... This makes me laugh. Verizon's one of the few companies consistently turning a profit, and last quarter had more net ads than ATT.

I agree that fanboy spamming is annoying, but by saying what you just said, you're making yourself nothing better than a ATT fanboy.

Ummmmmm,

Verizon is the number one network for both laptop cards and Blackberries (and on Verizon they are all 3G). You really should get your facts straight. It isn't just Verizon "fanboys" ripping AT&T and their network.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'number one network' The previous post was referring to actual network traffic.

At&T has more data traffic than VZW in terms of actual megabytes and posts more data revenue.
Also, AT&T has more Blackberry adds then any other provider.

Not according to RIM they aren't. According to RIM more users of Blackberry service are on Verizon than any other network. In all my trainings with AT&T never once did they make the same claim.

Now, AT&T does sell a good amount of Blackberry handsets. The difference is that AT&T does not require data on them as Verizon Wireless does. Before the mass influx of QWERTY handsets in December users on AT&T were required to buy Curves, Blackjacks, etc. to get a full keyboard. In December we had the Propel and Matrix launch.

The first statement is incorrect. It was launched on the mobitex network in Los Angeles in 1999. Groundbreaking devices is also subjective. AT&T Wireless at the time did not sell them and neither did Pacific Bell Wireless, both former pieces to the current AT&T.

The second statement is probably true. Every Pearl and Curve Verizon sells is not world capable. They are 3G though. What is more important, a 3G Curve or a Curve that works 2G in Belgium?

Not even close.. Mobitex was first developed in Canada(RIM's HQ) with a huge backing from Rodgers. The first US Mobitex network was owned and operated by BellSouth.
Mobitex networks in North America have been marketed under several names, including RAM Mobile Data, BellSouth Wireless Data, Cingular Interactive, Cingular Wireless and Velocita Wireless, and Rogers Wireless in Canada.

and you still never addressed your mis information about data revenue and megs transferred.

I guess we will agree to disagree.

Is Verizon has posted better financial numbers, churn and customer net adds over all other carriers almost every quarter for years.
