Opinions on the v551
I just migrated to cingular because my phone constantly switches to emergency calls only about 7-10 times a day for about 2-5 mins at a time... I got the v551 comin to me in a few days... good or bad choice?

Let's put it this way...
Some people LLLLOOOOOVVVEEEE Motorolas and tell you that you made a fantastic choice.
Some people HHHHHHAAAAATTTTEEEE Motorolas with a passion and tell you that you are a total dumba$$ for buying one.
That's the thing about Motorola. If you love them, you really love them, no matter how crappy they are. If you hate them, you really hate them, no matter how good they are.
I'll tell you this though for sure. If you find that you hate it, be certain to return it within the buyer's remourse period to get something else, or you will be stuck with it.
On a personal note. I've owned ONE Motorola cell phone. I will never EVER buy another. 'Tis the primary reason you will never catch me with a Nextel acco...

I personally find Nokias to be better, but then again they don't have a flip phone available here yet... That is just my opinion. So if the flip is an integral part of what you want then I would go for the v551, if not I would go with a Nokia, like the 6230 of the 6620. 😁

It seems to be one of Moto's better phones. Someone very close to me has one and has had no complaints.

I bought it in November at $199, returned it after a couple of weeks. You didn't have to pay that much, so you have less at risk.
I think the technology is great, though battery life seemed a little short. Mainly, I disliked the software and interface controls.

I think its a REALLY AWESOME PHONE! I mean you got Bluetooth, Quad-band, Camera/Video Phone, World Phone, and it has EDGE!!! I tryed it out and I wish I had that phone and spent a little extra on it then getting my V400(Which I still love but no Bluetooth or EDGE). Out of all the Motorolas it has the most features till the V635 that will come out soon...
