Moto Q Global or Samsung Epix? Please help

I am up for a renewal at AT&T, and my phone is VERY important to me. I am upgrading from a Blackjack I. Please help me decide. I have narrowed it down to the Q Global (silver) and the Epix.

The most important things to me are:

1. Contacts and appointments and being able to sync with Outlook.
2. Video. I really must have 320x240 video
3. A good web browser - I do web mail for the few times I am away from my computer. I really don't care for push mail.
4. I like to be able to take word documents with me.
5. I want one-handed operation - I don't like using a stylus.
6. Small/thin size
7. Battery life is a plus but not critical.
8. WIFI is a plus, but 3G is fine.

The Moto Q is pretty wide, but it is thin. It has the vid...

On top of all that the Moto Q9h is a great phone as well.
Don't know about the Epix, Samsung's microphones seem to pick up allot of back ground noise.

Yea, I held a Q Global today, and it didn't feel as wide as the numbers say. All the reviews I have read on the Q were very positive. The Epix reviews were mixed, but it is a powerful and small phone. I think I like the Q better.

You might want to try the Blackjack II. It's an Epix without the WIFI and touch screen. You can sync with outlook, record video, and the battery life is one of the best for smart phones.

It has Xpress Mail options but not really something you have to use if you prefer not to have push email.

Aside from that, the Blackjack II is pretty cost efficient. Most stores are selling them for 29.99 after 100 dollar MIR.

Hope this helps!

I had the Blackjack 2 as well as the Moto Q9h. And it had some of the BEST call quality, even better than the Q9h.
And it's smaller and smooth surface made it very pocketable.

I think the BJ II would be a decent pick, but I am hung up on the plastic keys right under the screen. They don't look like the quality of the metal keys on the Q and the Epix. I think the Q has a much faster processor. Thanks for the comment - it got me thinking.

Right, just giving you food for thought. I use a BB Bold but still have my Q9h.

Moto Q = 325 MHz processor, 128 MB memory.
Samsung Epix = 624 MHz processor, 150MB memory.
Samsung BJII = 260MHz, 128MB

Epix is faster. Working with demo devices, I found the Epix to be very usable - the optical trackball works like an infrared mouse on your desktop. Found it to be very functional.

All comes down to personal preference.

Thanks Fredd,

I didn't realize the Epix was so fast. I'm just a physical button guy. I watched some interactive tutorials on the Epix and found that when using the mouse, while functional, appeared to be more time consuming to navigate through menus. I don't use my phone for email, because I am at the computer most of the day. But Contacts and appointments are very important to me. If I am driving and have to remember to pick something up in an hour, I will try to quickly put in a reminder. It is my brain for remembering things. Keeping it simple, yet reliable is best for me. I went ahead and decided on the Moto Q. I really appreciate all of your help for this important decision. I will certainly be using this site in the f...

Thanks. All three of them are free after MIR on Letstalk.com. I guess I am still struggling. The Moto Q is probably my favorite, but the battery life is lower. It comes with a really thick extended battery, but it's just too fat. I don't use a lot of juice, so I might be OK.

Get the Epix. Use the optical mouse. If you give it a chance it will be better than any touchscreen, scroll wheel, or trackball in existence.
