Thinking of switching
I am seriously thinking of switching over to ATT. I am currently a Verizon customer, and want something other than the stuffed shirt Verizon phones that they offer, I have a question...Does ATT offer any type of trial period?
Thanks
and if sparker781 wants to i am not corporate but i can access the mapping tool for coverage so if you want to PM me i will check on that for ya!!
Hope that helps ya out!!
CELLULAR OUT!!
For example, Unlimited Calling for 99 $. Verizon came out with it first, then AT&T did 4 days later.
And now that they will be the first to offer LTE (4G) in the US. Verizon is not just for old people.

I don't see a diffence in the phones. Verizon puts there logo on the phone just like AT&T does. And Verizon was the first to launch a 3G network in the US. It has the largest 3G network. It was the first to launch Unlimited Texting. First to launch music downloading to your phone, V Cast Music. First to launch a video download service and streaming video service, V Cast Video. First to offer RingBack Tones. First to offer LIVE TV on your phone, V Cast Mobile TV. I think Verizon wins. After all, AT&T copies Verizon.

Ha. Try posting this on a phone community website like howardforums or engadget and see the flameball that comes your way. AT&T offers many different proprietary operating systems on their phones and many consumers appreciate this. Don't want a Windows Mobile or BlackBerry smartphone? Don't like the VZUI on your dumbphone? Tough luck, VZW consumer.

Verizon was the first to launch a 3G CAPABLE network in the US, with EV-DO Rev. 0. This network was capable of 40-140 kbps. Sound like a familiar speed? Probably not because...

Good post.
I think Voicestream, before T-Mobile bought them had an unlimited, gimicky plan back in 2001.
I just switched a T-Mobile customer who had that plan and still had a Voicestream SIM. Of course he had been buying unlocked phones all this time....

Did you happen to catch how much the plan was? Was it 99.99 as well?
T-Mobile worked great for him until he moved to my neck of the woods.

I like the fact that 95 percent of the time ATT allows the phone to do what its meant to do whereas Verizon basically takes the phone and stamps Verizon crap all over it...
What, EXACTLY, are you upset about? The UI being designed so that any VZW customer can pick up any VZW phone and actually start using it fully in less then 10 minutes?
If you're that anal about the user interface, you need a PDA/Blackberry anyway, and VZW doesn't touch those things in the slightest.
What, really, are you looking for/complaining about with those detail-less blanket statements you're throwing around about "stuffed-shirt VZW phones?"

Try having them flash the software and reload back in the current versions. Any tech center should have this capability.

Anyhow, here's my thoughts for you, sparker- I hope you find them useful, as I usually try to post only relevant conversation pieces:

I wouldn't want jrfdsf to think anything posted here might actually be of any value to anyone wanting to get some factual information.
Now, about spewing out both ends about other carriers off-network usage policies... 😲

Verizons UI is not crippled. There are 3 diffrent menu options. The service bars are eaiser to read. There is no problem with it.
Wow, THREE whole options!
And on those phones can you:
Change the "1" key designated for voicemail to some other key?
Change individual menu items in the order they appear?
Change the UI profile and how the phone rings with the push of one button?
Remove the Verizon Wireless banner from the home screen and type in something else instead?
Create shortcuts to favorite menu items with the push of one button?
Assign different functions to the soft keys and other buttons on the phone?
I'm guessing at least three or more no's for this pos ...

Yes - on SOME phones.
No - with the exception of the DARE
No
Yes - you can customize the banner
Yes, we do have direction shortkeys for customizable favorites
Yes on most phones.
I hope that answers yur question. Verizon uses an operating system (LG originally developed it by the by) because of a major customer complaint - difficulty of use everytime a customer upgrades their phone. I personally think it's a brilliant idea, because not everyone is as quick picking up new technology as you and me.
Before you talk about how terrible it is, please remember that...

There is nothing wrong with our phones. At least our customers can make calls in the majority of the US. 🤣
like i said they said that Verizon doesn't touch BB's at all, check their curve and world addition phone, they make you use vz navigator, when those phones come with bb maps and gps.
Don't believe me check out Verizon website.

P.S. they do still mess with phones, the Verizon has less ram by alot than the sprint or att version.

THIS is what I'm talking about.
He asked about a trial period.
I doubt very seriously that any help you have decided to provide him now will be appreciated...
