Latest rumors are that Cingular will not be offering the v600 until April, 2004.

If you really want Bluetooth, a clamshell model like the v600, and Cingular service, then you'll have no choice but to wait. Alternatively, you could consider getting the v600 with AT&T Wireless in the second week of February. Lastly, if Bluetooth isn't so important, you can do the v400 right now.

Good luck!

🙄 The v600 has a lot more to offer than the v400 but that depends on what you are looking for in the phone.
Personally i am waiting on the v600 myself which i think will be available in April.
If you have specific question about the differences i will try to help.

My understanding: the v400 and v600 are very similar- differences being color of cover and the following added benifits of the v600: ability to change cover, video recording/messaging (as opposed to just still pictures with the v400), 4x digital zoom on the camera, and bluetooth. If any of these are important to you, wait for the v600 (though it will be about 4 months it sounds like before cingular gets them and they'll be expensive then). If the bluetooth is only thing that's important to you then you could try to find a v500 or v525 on ebay that's unlocked.

Oh, yeah...one other difference I just remembered..."situational lighting" where the cover glows one of a couple of colors that you can assign, much like ringtones, to different groups.
