I was wondering. Now that some regional carriers offer unlimited calling plans and the big carriers like, AT&T, Verizon, Tmobile & Sprint have a unlimited plan too; I think next step into the getting and keeping customers would be presenting more aggressive plans.

Yes is true a $ 99.99 unlimited calling plan is better that getting a $300 bill or even more but that does not include messaging, email, web browsing, etc meaning if you want to take full advantage of phone capabilities you will have to add several services therefore increasing montly payment.

I noticed sprint step forward with their simple everything unlimited where everything is included and I believe AT&T and verizon should start offering a type of plan like that.

I und...

Do you honestly think Sprint would be doing their pricing if they weren't losing all their customers?

Sprint introduced this plan to try and stop the bleeding. I think a few days ago it was posted that Sprint lost 1.09 million customers in the first quarter. They're closing stores across the country, cutting pay for those still with their jobs, and losing customers by the truckload. They need this to try and compete with AT&T and Verizon.

AT&T and Verizon aren't even trying to compete with these little companies like Metro PCS, Alltel, and eventually this category will include Sprint. Those small companies are doing these things to try and keep up with AT&T and Verizon. You wont see either of these giants doing anything like that unless they have to.

I agree with the last two posters. The aggressive price plans that t-mobile and Sprint and other companies are offering is because they need something to give them an edge. At&t and Verizon already have an edge of more customer and in most areas, better coverage. I don't think you will be seeing the price plans getting lower anytime soon if ever. At&t and Verizon don't seem to have too many problems getting customers as the situation stands. As the "little companies" get bigger and expand their networks they will most likely start charging more, not the the other way around.
But you never know 😉

If you want to be cheap then you are going to get a cheap service...but if your like me and want quality service, along with extra stuff you will have to pay a little for it...alot of people let price determine what they do, and in most cases you can get something of good quality at a good price, but I have been in cell phone sales for a while, and if thier is one thing I have learned you need to shell out some money for somthing with quality...Another thing, I work for at&t and bring at least 10 customers a week over from Sprint/Nexsmell, and I work in a store that isnt all that busy

The bottom line is that cellular really IS a truly competitive marketplace where very, very few other "utility" companies are- the only other comparable I can think of is premium TV services (cable/satellite, etc).

As long as there are 3 or more "big boys" out there, pricing will reflect what the market/consumer will endure. AT&T/Cingular and Verizon have had practically identical monthly voice and txt pricing for the last 3 years, and when one of them has made a minor price adjustment or feature change, the other has followed suit in less then 3 weeks. It was true for the "Family Plan" revolution in early 2005 and it happened again with the unlimited plans that launched earlier this year. The only real difference cost-wise between V...

Upgrading to next generation networks is expensive. Sprint is doing Wimax but AT&T, VZW, and T-Mobile are doing LTE. I might be wrong but LTE is supposed to be a more expensive but more widely used solution.
