Maybe 2-3 a month, and only while driving. I almost never drop a call while I'm stationary. I use the SE w810 for my personal line and the Samsung Blackjack for my work line.

When I switched to AT&T I was in Virginia. I didn't drop many calls at all. Then I moved to North Carolina and I drop 1 or more times per person I try to have a conversation with.
CS keeps trying to tell me its my phone, but when I go back and visit Virginia suddenly I don't drop calls with my phone while I'm there. I've even tried upgrading with a new phone and while I didn't drop quite so many calls, I dropped enough that it wasn't worth the cost of the new phone and I ended up returning it. I tried it with several phones, so I'm pretty confident in saying that it's the coverage here. The coverage map here shows lots of 'moderate' areas which is defined as 'should have sufficient signal ...

i live in virginia and my roommate has ATT and has no complaints. My friend has ATT and has dropped calls.
I am considering switching to ATT since they have better coverage out in the rural areas of VA. I have families living in rural areas and I hate not having coverage out there.
Around DC, ATT and T-mobile are just as good.

NC is a 1900MHz only market. Certain phones will perform better on 850MHz in VA than 1900MHz in NC. Motorola and LG are perfect examples. I can drop 3 calls a day with my LG CU500 forced to GSM, but I switch to my SE K800 no dropped calls.

Not really what I meant. Nokia in general does well on both 850 & 1900. LG and Motorola perform better in 850 markets.

Of course. I've used them since 1998 when it was Bellsouth Mobility DCS here in the Carolinas. If you're using a Nokia, you'll have a great network experience. I tell people to avoid LG, Samsung, Motorola, & Palm on our network. Nokia, SE, Blackberry, HTC, etc all make great equipment that work well every where you use it, not just 850 markets.
Plus, I'm a network engineer for them. 😁

lol, I used to be that we in college. It really depends on what area you are in. Around here in NC, I only have an issue when I travel to the middle of nowhere. The best way to determine is the coverage viewer on the AT&T website.

One a week but I live in a marginal area for coverage. I accept that. I still believe a few redials are far better then dealing with crippled phones and Carrier overlays of GUI. ATT would have to really get bad for me to want to switch to the land of "We control everything and charge you for Everything" Land.
I don';t have to pay ATT for GPS. IN fact I don't even need to be on the network to use the GPS as it should be. I don't have to send the phone to ATT to see if it's "ok". I buy a phone and it works exactly as the maker intended.
