don't worry you won't for long according to the streamlined 2008 plan to eliminate indirects.

Maybe in your market, thats not a nationwide effort as a few COR stores are being converted to indirect to save the company money, at least in my area anyway.

I have a customer/friend, who has Dobson/CellOne. She has a really great plan, apparantly unlimited minute usage for a flat rate, with 4 total phones on the plan.

Is she going to be able to stay on that plan, or is she going to have to change to a different plan when it's time to renew?

Will ATT auto migrate her to one of their plans?

I'm just wondering, she has been an accessory/RS customer for years, but couldn't come off of this plan because of insane usage.

She will not have to change to a different plan when the merger completes until her contract expires. If her contract expires and it has already become AT&T, she will have to sign up for an AT&T plan. There is no way that AT&T will be able to honor Dobson's old plans if she wants to renew a new contract.

She'll be able to keep it until her phone dies. Just like former att wireless customers. If she gets a new phone she'll have to migrate over and get an att phone, sim card, and plan. Just tell her to take good care of her phone.

Yeah, you'll be able to get her as one of your customers just as soon as her contract is over or one of her 4 lines breaks a phone. ๐Ÿคฃ

If she's a TRUE friend....get her a couple Dobson SIM's. When her phone/'s die, she'll be able to get an unlocked phone and use it on the plan. If she has to use a AT&T SIM...THAAAATS when things get crazy because unless her phone is unlocked now, an AT&T SIM won't work in her phone and she'll be forced to buy new equipment...when that happens, you MUST change plans!

As a footnote: if you were to "aquire" some "extra" Dobson SIM's....people who lose their phones, buy new unlocked phones ect and don't wan't to lose their plan will pay a premium for them...old AT&T(pre Cingular buy-out) are going for upwards of $30 on ebay!

Actually, Cellular One doesn't lock any of their handsets except for the Blackberry so if she got her current phone from Cell One, it should already be unlocked.

๐Ÿ™„ I don't know where you get your information (badgerguy) but apparently you were poorly informed. today is the 5th and my name tag still says cellular one.

They can't legally take us over until december according to the FCC filing. So you'll have to wait a few weeks longer until you get that fat stay bonus... sorry!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

why do you seem so excited about this? you may not have a job either when this is all done. especially if you are in any management position as they will probably be the first to go.

I agree...too funny. I'm not saying I HOPE she gets caught and I would never turn her in, but it's kind of stupid to use your sales channel!! I don't know if upper management reads phone scoop, but I know a few supervisors in the call center who read phone scoop and have read her posts!! An assistant supervisor is the one who pointed out the posts to me!
