AT&T overtakes Verizon in JD Powers

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Wireless-phone customers say their problems are being fixed more quickly and they give the highest marks once again to T-Mobile USA Inc., according to a study by noted consumer-research firm J.D. Power & Associates.
J.D. Power said 81% of the 10,500 wireless subscribers contacted for its twice-a-year survey reported their problems were "resolved in a timely manner," up from 75% in 2004. Customers reported fewer dropped calls or loss of coverage.
The survey suggests the mobile industry is enjoying greater success at keeping subscribers loyal. In an increasingly saturated U.S. market, carriers have spent more money to improve customer service in anticipation of a slowdown in subscriber growth.

that was the most meaningless thing I have ever read. that stated nothing to support this title. Thanks for making me think one day AT&T might EVER be anything near Verizon....that was worth the laughs.

Keep supporting the worst customer service and the worst sales reps in the industry, with your super hot I Phone that is about as big as my dvd player on dial up speeds LMAO.

Oh, you silly.

Number one, the survey was ONLY about Customer Care, aka CS. You don't seem to remember the Call Quality JD Power survey only four months ago, where Verizon clobbered EVERYBODY, including ATT/Cingular, who they beat in every national region, six for six.

In fact, ATT/Cingular managed to come in dead last in three out of the six regions. Woooeee, high-fives all around:

Number two, T-Mobile is the only one who gets bragging rights in the Customer Service survey... ATT was ranking 'Average', as was Verizon's and Alltel's. Check it out:

its not hating. While CS is important call quality and network is far more important. And as I see no one in att wants to talk about that part of the survey. I think surveys are worthless but you brought it up!

who gives a crap who is number one. Do you all get paid more since your number 1? Are you plans cheaper because of it? Do you get better service since it? I think no to all of them. SO WHO CARES??? One answer is You get worse with more people on one network at times.

really honestly, who gives a sh*t who is number 1? Its just good to see us improving on certain metrics in our business. Dont start arguments because you feel the need to bring vw into the equation bc you feel they are the best. we know our competitors, so keep the information to yourself.

You mean JD Powers isn't always right.... I thought polling a miniscule percentage of undoubtedly biased consumers about their perceptions of service is an excellent way to determine who has the best service!

Heck, we should just do away with presidential elections and have JD Powers do a survey on 10,000 people asking who would be the best president and appoint them, couldn't do any worse!

Apparently Midnight saw fit to cut-copy-paste my original VZW forum post onto the ATT forum. Why, I don't know... guess he thought it was better than any rebuttal he could come up with. You'd have to ask him.

Regardless, I'd have to say I'll never be as big a VZW fanboi as Tex, RUFF, and Eraser are ATT fanbois. That's one competition I'll never win. ...
