I am very bummed. I waiting in line 15 hours yesterday to get my iphone only to activate it this morning and have ZERO coverge in my house. zip code 61021 Does anyone have any suggestions before I call it quits and return in minus my $60.00 for restocking. If i do have to return it. Do I just go back to apple store or do I have to call AT&T as well to cancel service.
thanks

If I walk outside it works anywhere about 10 feet from the house. OMG I don't want to return this. I love it.

Your only option if you want to keep the iPhone then is to get a signal repeater. It's going to run you a few hundred dollars plus you need to be handy enough to install it. Interested?

According to http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/
there is coverage in your zip code. You should run it yourself since it's not a good idea to provide your home address on a public internet forum. 😛

And by Zero coverage do you mean you get the AT&T network tag without any bars or do you not even get a network tag (even in the 2nd floor)?

I dunno what to do. I do not have a land line anymore so I really need it to work at home. I wonder how long till they add more coverage or if I should just forget it and take it back. I love this phone too... 😢

IM in a "moderate" coverage area as well. But I don't use the phone much. We have over 1900 Roll Over minutes on our 450 month 2 phone family plan 🤣 🤣

Perhaps if it wasn't such a hassle to make calls from the area indoors we would use the phones more.

I am afraid after driving around today in my town. I am taking it back tomorrow. IT SUCKS! I did talk with apple today and they were awesome. They called the store I bought it from and talked with the manager to assure me I would not be charged the restocking fee as I was told by AT&T that I would have decent but some spotty coverage. I have NONE. nobody's fault, just the way it is. I only wish I knew if any more towers are gonna be added in the near future. 😢

Dude that has to suck bigtime. Maybe you can try a signal booster or something. I know they sell them on wirelessground.com for about a buck a piece.

Do any GSM phones work at your house? If so, just get something that works. If not, you have a few options...

get an external antenna for the phone. That's going to mean having a wire connected to your phone. I used to use one when I had verizon, and I was at least able to make calls then.

get a repeater. They cost a few hundred, but it will help.

look for another provider which will work.

Only verizon works everywhere in my town. The point though, I am a huge mac fan and I love my iphone. ALOT. SHould I look into a cell booster set as I have seen online or is it a waste of money. I can make calls outside in my driveway and that is about as close to my house as I can get.
THanks for any info. I really do not want to return this phone

No, I understand your point. I do. I just was HOPING so bad that it would work here. I guess if I had a land line it would not be such a deal breaker. but, I do not need to do that if my verizon works great.
thanks

Bummer man I know how you feel often times I consider ATT, but I know I would need a landline to fall back on. I just can't justify the added expense when my verizon phone works everywhere including inside my home 🙂

If you can receive some signal, you can get a whole house/car repeaters for about 300 dollars. The antenna needs to be placed where signal is available, placed the repeater inside where you can get the best reception. They can be purchased at Radio Shack and returned if it doesn't work. Make sure you purchase the model for GSM not CDMA.

I can barely find a spot in the house to get a call to go through. I have to walk out into my driveway to get a clear call. Do you think a repeater would work for me?
