8525 new ROM, isp.cingular won't connect
My ISP (isp.cingular)will not let you connect to the internet anymore after the ROM update. Any ideas? I've verified that all settings are correct. wap.cingular works. I have pda unliimited plan......

check to see what method it's using to connect to the internet. I know the HTCs give you a few different options, one being "the internet" and the other being "my isp".

It's set to use "my isp", with the correct settings for isp.cingular. That's what I was using with the previous ROM. e-mail works with isp.cingular, just can't browse the web for some reason. LOTS of folks apparently having this problem with the 8525, according to cingular's forum for HTC/cingular phone-no solutions yet.

Here's an odd question. Does the browser work when you're connected through wifi?

I haven't tried that......I will try sometime today. I NEVER have used WiFi with this phone, even with the original ROM-though I vaguely remember trying wifi out once when I got it last year. Jim

That would narrow down the problem to if it's with the browser application or the way that information is relayed to the phone through Cingular. Good luck.

try selecting 'media net' instead of my isp

I can connect with the media net, but I have the PDA Unlimited Connect plan, isp.cingular is what those in the know here, and in other forums, say I should be using and is supposedly a better connection....
