Folks - I'm looking for (don't laugh) a phone that will allow me to access Internet radio stations, as I can now with RealPlayer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

only one i know of would be the Treo 600 - i have done it before. you need to download an extra app that will open up shoutcast streams. i'm not sure about realplayer stuff though.

Well, I had seen Real on a couple of phones, but AFAIK it was for playback of local files. Streaming audio from a Cingular phone would solve a LOT of problems for me, though.

Don't know if you can do it with the Nokia 6620. It's a symbian phone and has EDGE.

should be able to do it with 6620, that is a big push for 6620 because you are supposed to be able to use it with real player.....its gonna cost you a grip o cash though

Yea, the 6620 looks like THE phone to do this with Cingular.

Now onto the ugly question...how much am I going to have to pay to, in effect, listen to the radio on my phone?

I'm on my way now to check out Cingular's data plans again, but even after giving them a quick once-over I'm confused to how they work.

Let's say I listen to a 32K stream for an hour. How much data would that be?

it depends if its considered a PDA, cause i inquired about cingulars unlimited internet plans, and its $20 thru the phone, 40 if its a PDA and 80 if its thru a laptop.

Unlimited Internet $20 a month through the phone? If I get the audio I want I could certainly live with that.
