I've been with Cingular for many years and have no intentions of dropping them. However, I would like to get a new phone now that my contract is up. I was hoping that some of you with more knowledge than me could point me in the right direction. I want my new phone to be a flip (if all possible). I just want the keys protected at all times. Also, I'm looking for the following features.
- bluetooth a must, camera phone, and video would be nice. good battery life a definite plus. I would also like to get one that has external photo id, so that I can just look at the phone see who is calling and use my bluetooth without opening the phone. Text messaging is not that important to me.

the motorola V3 fits your description, however it wont be out until thanksgiving at the EARLIEST, more likely around X-mas. the motorola MPX-220 is coming our around then too, but they are both going to be around the $500 range and the RF on motorolas are usually crappy. There is the Sharp GX-32, but i seriously doubt that cingular will carry it. Cingular is releasing the Nokia 6230 (thats what i'm getting 😁 ), but its a bar phone thats going to run around $150. Cingular is also going to carry the Nokia 6620 and the 7610. However, those are both bar phones and they are $350-$450. You can settle for a bar phone now, or you can wait until x-mas and get the V3 or you can buy the GX-32 online (ebay etc.)

Just to point out: Cingular already carries the Nokia 6620 and it's retailed @ $499.99 ;)

(The V3 will probably come out sooner than the other scheduled models)

Does anyone have any news of any Nokia flip or clamshell phones coming out regardless of features?
