Guys,

I hate to be this blunt because you know that I have come to respect LG and I used to be a Samsung guy.. I do think the 8300 and 5300 are wondeful devices.. But this thing ?

What are they thinking ?

It's definitely a young person's phone to take out and show around and maybe play some music but as a phone it's aweful.

When using a phone you need to be able to grab it, dial a number and make a call and when you are done end the call.

This phone which yes looks cool , is tough to use. The touch sensitive buttons are ridiculous and hard to use, Sometimes you press them and some times they work..

The Slider feels okay but the keypad is hard to deal with and has very small buttons.

The end button is horrid. I mean horri...

🤣 I knew it was going to be a POS, I'm sticking with the 8300 too, I'm on my phone constantly and without usefulness its worthless. O well what's next? 🙂

9900 😲 😲 😲 But i am still getting the chocolate, If I can't stand it I will just ebay it in September for the 9900, but i am guessing the layout of the chocolate will just take time to get used to it. I am betting once you use it for a while you get used to it. I also know you can change the sensitivity on the touch keys, so it might take some tinkering to get it the way you like it.

I have been using the chocolate for about a week now and I found it to be awesome. The touch screen took a bit getting used to, but after a day or two I was fine with it. I am not sure why you have such an issue with the end key. Now I will say that you are right about it not being for a power user, that is not the target market. It is supposed to be more of a music player, hence the ipod like design. This phone is sooo sweet looking, I absolutely love it.

Can you end calls by sliding the phone shut? I never hit end call on my current slider.

I respect theatermax and know he knows and appreciates cell phones as I do, but I am a little dissappointed that he was quick to make a decision on this phone after using it for only one night.
I understand where he is coming from, I can tell almost immediately if I'm going to like a phone or not, but after using it for awhile I sometimes change my mind for the good or the bad. Just like the 8300! He raved about it right away, then realized the Bluetooth sucked later.
I think we need to try these out for more than a day to really make an honest judgement. I hated the 950 when I first tried it out. After having the 8100 and comparing it to that. Thought the buttons sucked, screen didn't stay on, no text on outside, etc. etc. etc. ...

It's a common problem on any forum.

The careful consumer has to remember that much of what's written is subjective opinion and personal preference that the author usually mistakes for universal truth.

There's a difference between an objective review weighing pros and cons, and condemning something merely because it doesn't meet another reviewer's needs or preferences.

While I respect your opinion, my experience with the phone has been excellent:

Sure the first day I had the phone it was a bit awkward to use the touch-sensitive buttons, but once I set the sensitivity to the level that works best for me it works great. At first I was trying to mash the buttons like a regular push-button but it just takes a delicate touch to get the phone to respond.

As for the keypad being small, show me a slider that doesn't suffer from this problem. It is to be expected so I wasn't disappointed when I got the phone. If I were a heavy texter I'd get a V or even an 8300 with a bigger keypad.

As for the end button, it is a slider so just slide it closed to end your call....doesn't get any easier than that. When I ha...

Sorry guys for jumping or leading you to to think it sucks..

I really did not want to come off this way.

LG is on top of their game. Their Cell offering is extensive and offers everyone something nice.

This Chocolate is very cool for the user who wants something different and the screen is sweet. It's usabilty is just not for me but I am interested in the Bluetooth and how it works.

Guys, I really am an LG guy now so I dont want to bash them, I just pray they fix the 8300 bluetooth so it works better with more headsets.

Let's keep testing !!
