Verizon Bar Phones?
Their current plethora of the same old dull flip phones is putting me to sleep. I've been checking their site and visiting their stores for months and nothing ever changes. Dullness rules with Verizon.
Cingular has that great new Motorola, the SLVR which is the bar style version of the RAZR. You think Verizon will get a clue some day?
đ¤Ŗ đ đŗ
Verizon needs to come up with something different and focus on the phone part and leave unimportant things like ring tones, cameras and mp3 players to the short attention span set.
You need do two things:
1.) Learn how to spell
2.) Learn how to write
Verizon continues to offer the same selection of cheap flip phones and as a Verizon customer, I'd like them to bring on a variety of new, quality phones.
That's it!
And anyone who says a phone with a camera is a necessity (note my spelling) is part of that growing short attention span set with way too much time on their hands.
Have a good day! đ
Verizon is only focussing on making their lame phones into an mp3 players. I let my iPod do that for me. I guess they're making a killing off charging people to download songs.
Here's a concept: How about coming up with some new PHONES. Remember those, you talk on them? đ
OH AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW COKE RULES AND PEPSI SUX
I disagree heartily. Flip phones are ok, but Verizon also needs to start introducing some bar phones that aren't pieces of &%#@. They need to introduce some new phones PERIOD. I've been to their website and it's Motorola and LG flip phones all over the place.
They need to start focusing some of their business on adults who have jobs and money to actually buy a good quality phone that ISN'T a toy for a 10 years old. You know, the short attention span set?
you guys just get a different demographic

Yeah... maybe if we lived in Europe. đ
Seriously, in the US, its probably at least 2 to 1 flip over bar. In Europe, its probably the reverse. Asia... who knows, but all my Asian friends have flip phones and say thats the style over there.
Here's an excerpt from a cute article where a bar phone user bemoans the fact that clamshell phones are so popular:
The Great Debate
But if you're nodding your head in agreement with me, well, we've just got to come to terms with the fact that much of the rest of the world doesn't agree with us. Most of Asia and much of the U.S. just can't seem to get en ...

if it was more like 500k to 20 million then yeah
if one company drops them, it will only profit the other comapnies by increasing their bar phone sales because bar phone people will not convert easily and vice versa
My whole beef here is that Verizon is not only avoiding bringing on any quality bar phones, but any new phones at all. You go into their store and all they have is the same old thing. I keep going back and am surprised every time that the same phones are there tht were there 6 months ago. What is that about?
How about introducing something new that isn't a flip phone, or a Palm Treo (which sucks) or a flimsy plastic Nokia that isn't worth a dime?

Yeah, that Nokia 6265 slider looks VERY nice... and I don't even like sliders.
Might be more interested in the Samsung 915 though... 'boring' flip design n' all đ

verizon will never make a cool functional phone. What is so difficult for you people to understand? If you want any real type of choice GSM is the only option.
Uhh... Verizon doesn't make the phones, silly. The manufacturers do. đ
So what, the RAZR and LG 9800 aren't cool and functional? News to us. Hey GSM has some nice phones, only prob... Verizon blows the GSM providers' networks away where I live. Fix THAT, and maybe I'll give GSM a second look.
What flippin' good is a 'cool' (read 'trendy phone that no one will give a crap about in six months') phone if the network ain't all that? Duh. đŗ
I actually hate all Cell Phone Carriers equally... I hate cell phones for that matter. But such is the unfortunate series of events that led me here.

I fact is he has never tried he just spews negativity about cingular and has no clue expect what he reads from others, that is why he should shut his pie hold about cingular.
Sry (and I never say this to anyone) but you're an IDIOT. âšī¸
My brother tried Cingular in my area... did NOT like it. Never could get that 'perfect' call... either suffered garble or an outright drop. Could not wait to switch back to Verizon.
Shut your own ignorant pie hole, chump. Cing didn't cut the mustard, get over it. đ

C im right i see you bashing cingular left and right on this forum and you never have put a cingular phone to your ear. the only idiot here is you shock for talking a lot of crap about cingy and never used it yourself. your brother and friends have đ đ ok guy đ
Noticing that Cingy doesn't work well ain't "bashing". Its called "reality", friend. Try it sometime. đ
And my brother lives .5 miles away from me. I really seriously doubt I'd have a night-and-day experience with Cing compared to him, or my friends who live just down the street.
Face it, you're a Cing fanboy who just can't deal with the fact that Cing SUCKS in some places. Would you like me to spell it out for y...

I just jumped ship from verizon to cingular and I think the call clarity is much more impressive then verizon. I love the freedom of choice I get with GSM.
Brownie point for you. But in my area, Cingular is definitely 'SBC' quality... String Between Cans. đ¤Ŗ
so they may have the lowest drop calls in some areas, but not the major areas...

Exactly!
Why can't Platypus get that if Cingular really did work great in our areas, there's a good chance we'd go with them? But it doesn't, so we don't. Duh. đ
plus cingular doesnt have anything that entices me...
1. who cares about their roll over
2. data plans are horrible
3. data speeds (as of right now) are horrible
4. coverage in many areas, well mine is lacking
5. voice plans are horrible...
nothing to entice me .
the good thing; they cater to lower-mid income demographics and they have lower expenses...
tmobile is pretty good in my area.
Yes, finally.
Cingular has lousy service in my area that's why I'm with Verizon. I'd just like to see a couple of quality new phones come out of that company instead of their continuing poor selection.
So tell me, what's wrong with wanting more and better from your service provider? đŗ

Have you ever tried cingular in your area? or are you just another verizon user who believes Consumer reports and JD. đ i already know the answer âšī¸ try something befor you knock it Cingular is making some big strides you should give it a try.

He's not the only one I know either... have had several friends on Cing and most have switched away from Cing for pretty much the same reasons listed above.
Cing just ain't there yet. Oh well.
