I will be so glad when we are rid of the analog towers and network. It will be so much easier to sell phones to customers and not have to debate the analog/digital issue.

I'm sure it will be. But until that day comes, whether to buy a phone without analog coverage in order to obtain other features remains a dilemma for many of us.

I like the analog coverage idea. I would rather be able to use my phone in more places than to use stupid options, because I travel alot I depend on my phone make and send calls.

yeah, when analog is dead, you wont be discussing with customers which phone to get, instead, you will be discussing or talking to a mad customer because their phone is not working, so, you will be trading one evil for another. Aren't you so lucky/// 🤣

why would someone want an analogue phone? digital phones (most not all) still pick up analoge signal (850 mhz) while digital within the us is 900 mhz. It's GSM phones that alot of times don't use the analoge funtion. but i don't know alot about analog so correct me if i'm wrong. we don't have analog with cingular and I live in canada and we don't have analoge here. just cdma or gsm.

Yeah, that way you won't need to worry about any of those former customers who live, work or travel in areas where your company can't be bothered providing digital service.

My point of this thread was simply to say that it will be much easier to chose phones once the old analog towers are changed over to digital. VZW currently has the largest digital nation wide network. We still use some analog towers in some areas. We won't be deserting our rural customers, their towers will be converted to digital. We love you all digital or analog. Some customers misunderstand how it all works. A trimode phone will not improve your reception in an all digital area. But a trimode phone MAY improve your reception in a rural area that is still serviced by analog towers.
