Hello, I am a HTC Touch 2 Pro user who is looking to upgrade to a 4g LTE phone in July. My NE2 is up in July (I know this is the last time VZW is offering this program.)

My TP2 has been stellar, specially with global roaming, and that large Qwerty keyboard. I don't need to upgrade as the phone is running just fine, but I want to.

When I look at the reviews on the current three 4G offerings from VZW, I don't see a lot of positive comments.

Thunderbolt seems to have serious battery life issue. Samsung Charge seems feel cheap and plasticky with poor sound quality (?). Even though it comes off as the best of the bunch.
Not sure why LG is getting no love, even though seems to be a decent phone.

So Here Are My Questions:

So Here Are My Questions:

1- Should I just get one of these 3 phones in July, or wait for something better.
2- When should we expect the Samsung Galaxy S II? or Are there any 4Gs coming up this summer.
3- If I were to get one of the current 3 offerings, should I just get the Charge?
4- Apparently none of the 4G phone have global roaming. What would happen if I need to go to overseas?

Thanks very much for your comments.

1- There is always something better 6 weeks away. If you can be happy with something now, get it now and be happy with it for a few years.

2- I've seen rumor that the next Nexus Series handset will be launching with LTE, but it's too early to give any cred...

thanks! the trick as always is having to live with a phone for at least a couple of years. and now that VZW has dropped NE2 I guess they expect us to keep signing 2 year contracts and get the phone without additional discounts.

If discounts are important to you, and you are in the last 2 months of your contract, Amazon Wireless would be a good way of getting a new phone at a reasonable price.

Finally made it to a VZW store and checked out the 4G phones (had seen only the Thunderbolt before). The new Charge really looks great, and I like the non-rectangular style, it's a very clever design and makes the phone seem slimmer. Beautiful display!

I have the Charge, so if you have any ?'s, let me know. As of Monday the 20th I will have had it for a full month, no major complaints.

I don't know what kind of user you are, but it would be wise to consider getting an extended battery.

LTE speeds are !!!! Fk'n !!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the offer. I have a couple of questions actually.

With the extended battery, do you need to get a different back for the phone? Will it still fit on the desktop charger?

Do you know if the Charge will sync with MS ActiveSync via Outlook?

Yes you will need a new back for the phone, no it won't fit in the dock with the extended battery in it, but Verizon does have a dock where you can charge the spare battery, and the phone at the same time.

Reguarding MS Outlook, I wouldnt know, I'm not a business person, I use real email, Gmail, MS Outlook is for business people. Likely there is some sort of app for it though.
